@gators18 Is that a requirement or " be competitive" 3.5? My major required a 3.5 to be competitive, but it didn’t mean you had to have a 3.5. So, that is something to call admissions or talk to a transfer advisor for your college. If it does say you have to have B’s in your first attempts for pre-req’s you might be in trouble. I would call ASAP and find out. They can be forgiving if its not truly horrible. They mentioned at preview that they can work with you if its not too big of a screw up. Good luck.

I just wanted to ask here before I would open a new thread about it, someone might know it…

I applied as a Transfer for Fall 2015 to the College of Engineering and I just got my green card some months back, so I am new to FAFSA…

When would I have to file for it, since I am confused about what the UF website tells me… They say as early as 1st of January, but you need your Tax Return, which I probably won’t have earlier than mid February, but then again it all has to be sent in “weeks” before March 15 to make the deadline? On top of that they say, that most aid is “first come, first serve”…

When do you guys fill out FAFSA or send it in, or are you supposed to just use the tax return from the year prior?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Does anyone know what happens if I don’t meet the conditional requirements and get a C in a class I was required to get a B in ?

My Application for Fall 2015 has just been referred to the college for decision.
I applied Mid October to the College of Engineering. :)

Current GPA: 4.0
Prereq GPA: 4.0
College: EFSC
Major: Finance
Term applied: Fall 2015
Even though Ive done really well, I’m still worried I’m not going to get in because I only have 5 of the 7 prerequisites for Heavner. I’m taking the other 2 this semester though.
DRD941, I think you have a great shot. You only need 4/7 prerequisites to apply. And from what I’ve been reading on these forums, they send conditional admission terms when your still in the process of finishing their full requirements. If I may ask, do you have your AA as well?
I’m getting my AA after this semester
For a lot of the majors, specifically CS, it says that you must have the minimum tracking requirements BEFORE you apply to UF. Seeing that UF applications are due 6-9 months in advance, this doesn’t seem logical.
It wouldn’t make sense to complete all the requirements and then be at the same institution taking random classes to just wait for the decision to come out.
Does anyone have experience with this? Or could I just apply 6-9 months in advance and then finish my remaining courses in that current semester.
My transcripts were finally all received last on Monday, how long does it usually take for them to change the status to sent to the college for admissions? And then how long after that does it usually take for you to get a final answer?
Hello, I applied to UF on March 1st. They say not to apply early, because a majority of the decisions happen towards the end of the school year.
GPA: 3.2 Preprof GPA: 3.6
CC: IRSC
Major: Animal Sciences (CALS)
College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
Anyway, around April 2nd my status changed to, “Your application has been referred to your college for a final decision.” I contacted the dean for my college major. She told me that CALS decisions deadline for transfer is July 15th. So anyone who applied to CALS should receive a decision before that date. My question is, is there anyone who has a CALS major that has been accepted???!!! I’m still waiting to here back. Thanks
FutureVet2017,
I applied to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with the major Animal Sciences as well! My status right now also says “Your application has been referred to your college for a final decision.” As soon as I hear anything I’ll let you know!
@UFVet0822 Yes please do!!! I’ll do the same.
@UFVet0822 what are your stats, just curious
For any CALS majors. I have created a Thread for just us. We are one of the last colleges to hear from. You can post your stats and get feedback from other CALS majors. My thread is: University of Florida CALS Applicants (Fall 2015) Transfers
@FutureVet2017
GPA: 3.72
Currently at University of Central Florida
Major for UF: Animal Sciences in College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
I sent in my application on Feb 28
Nice!!! What you want to practice? Veterinarian? Small or large??
@FutureVet2017
I’m thinking small but I’m definitely open to exploring all fields
Nice!!! My heart has been in large forever. It’s what I’ve known my whole life.
So I applied as a sophomore bio major OOS transfer for this upcoming fall. Last week, my application status stated denied, but for the reason that calculus had not been taken and if I could take it before the fall term, I could be conditionally admitted. Has anyone else gotten this?
I called CLAS and they said to email them; I sent an email this past Monday about the situation, and have yet to receive a reply. My impatient self called Wednesday (yesterday) and asked when I could expect a response, and they said by the end of this week. So if I don’t hear anything from them tomorrow, I’ll be calling again Monday.
I was accepted today!!! Omg, I am ecstatic!!! Definitely worth the wait. For those who have not been accepted yet abd trying to get into CALS, they are going through applications everyday!! As long as you finished all the required prerequisites and your gpa is at least the minimum then please, you have nothing to worry about. I also met with the Dean of admissions for this college awhile back; she is super sweet and outgoing. Trust me! Start looking for a place to live. You shouldn’t have anything to worry about if you meet the requirements. Also, the preview dates are June 22, July 20, and Aug 10th or the 17th. But goodluck to all those who are still waiting. And for those who have been accepted, Welcome To the GatorNation!!! YAYYY! I will follow up with everything that goes on for those still waiting to hear back. So y’all know what to expect
