I thought apps might be down this year for political reasons. But I should know better: never bet against admissions becoming tougher!
That was the conventional wisdom, which was always ridiculous to be frank. The Florida university system is simply excellent, and Sasse is making all the right moves.
Really?
âSasse predicted that low tuition costs, which are heavily subsidized by the Legislatureâs appropriations that include lucrative Bright Futures scholarships for many students, canât continue,â
There is a reason people are flocking to Florida in record numbers. The state is run simply excellent, and especially itâs university system.
Yep. Really.
Sadly, the story of higher ed in many places - reducing depts, etc. Some of this is necessary because of the lack of program demand, which drains resources. The only thing I see here that concerns me is the online factor. Teaching online is a different animal than teaching in person (I have done it for 20 years now). Itâs not for everyone - faculty, students, and obviously not suitable for all programs.
Do we think that UF has finalized admissions decisions by this point?
I donât think so. They will probably be finished by end of next week or so and there will be a week to get everything uploaded and stuff.

Is anyone able to get this to work. It canât find my invitation. Thinking they might set this up early and if you have it, you will get in. You can find UFID in your portal.
Didnât work for my daughter
Was that what they needed that for housing deposit months ago?
Might be a little too early for those links to begin working - we still have 2 weeks and I think those hints work best a few days before possibly.
Can you clarify what it âshould â look like
It should trigger an email with gatorlink set-up, but it does not work yet for anyone. Probably will only happen 1-2 days before if at all.
Didnât they already get the gatorlink in order to do the housing deposit?
No, they have it set up to not use gatorlink for housing.
It definitely wonât happen until after decisions go out.
Here is an article from last weekâs UF Alligator regarding President Sasse â an update from the one shared earlier in this thread:
Good article thanks for sharing, and confirms what I have suspected all along. Cherry picking.
If I get in for Fall (which I applied for), can I switch to summer? Iâm thinking about maybe doing 2 online classes over the summer to get a headstart on my degree.
Also, can someone please explain what PACE is? Is it worth it OOS if that is what happens to me?
Also, when we hear back on 2/23 at 5:15, will there be a status update button to click or will it just show on the main page right after logging in? Thanks!
