If you are admitted to Fall then it is likely that you’d be able to switch to summer. There are always people admitted to Summer who ask to be switched to Fall so a swap that direction normally isn’t a problem. If you are offered PaCE it’s because you applied to a major that is conducive to online learning. You would need to complete 60 credits (including test and dual enrollment credit, at least 15 UF Online credits, minimum 2 semesters online) and the prerequisites for your major. Then you’d work with your advisor to transition to campus when you are ready. Most PaCE students move to Gainesville, live in an apartment, sign the option fee package and attend all the UF things like any other student.
Last update was the decisions are planning on going at 6 for real this year.
Could this include the summer semester so I am on campus for real by Spring? I will have many credits to transfer in so the 60 is no problem. And does a degree from this program show that you started online, or does it look the same as if you were just a normal UF student.
PaCE is fall start only, so no you can’t transition to campus spring of freshman year. Also, remember it isn’t just the 60 credits it’s all the critical tracking classes required for your major, so be sure to see what classes on the UF website which will give you a better idea of when you could transition if you get PaCE. What major did you apply to UF?
Business administration was my major, which is not a Pace offering anyway. They have a generals studies in business through that I could use to get started, then just switch on campus.
PaCE does have Business Administration, it’s the only PaCE business major, granted it is a BA, not a BS. Not sure if that makes a difference for being offered PaCE.
It’s difficult to transfer to a non-PaCE major, but not impossible, it’s more like being a transfer student. You pick a specialization which can also be a minor depending on what you choose.
Will UF use the ACT that reported on Dec 10th I believe was the date? is there any chance if the UF portal was updated with the new better scores that they would be considered?
I agree with you. Here in PA, our COA at Pitt and Penn State Main are at about $33,000 in state. Even if he raises the tuition a bit, with Bright Futures it will still be a great deal, I think. We happily send our OOS kiddo to UF, but I’m always so jealous of what the FL residents pay. But, I do understand that tuition hikes are never fun or easy to take in.
Did everyone get an email from UF today?
How parents can help w decision day?
It’s a lot like the one FSU sent out, which made me concerned it was a precursor to denial
But son did get into FSU.
So I’m hoping the UF email today went out to everyone as well
With good intentions
I’m ready for 2:23!
