University of Florida Class of 2028 Official Thread

No. I did not really notice to much going on.

Application fee waivers?

What’s your first 3 choices? (Sorry if you already said it in an earlier thread). What is your major?

Very impressive!

Oh wow - I did not know that (of course, we have never visited either). Do you know if they are building any new dorms?

Compared to some of the other campuses yes. I’m happy they are renovating but I’m sad that it doesn’t seem like it will end throughout my time there (hopefully). It seems when they finish one they start another

Top choices are UF, FSU, then maybe UGA. I will be going to UF though if I get in tonight.

Same situation here and if I told you (I’ll share after decisions) what UF did with her application and portal today (or some time prior to today without our knowledge) you would die and be very upset (depending on the outcome I suppose).

Yes, I qualify for them. I only paid for 1 application I think.

Did you apply to any reach schools?

Yeah UF!

That’s nice. We only got 1 free application waiver. I think we paid close to $1100 for all of our applications.

That’s crazy! I defiently would not be applying to so many without the feewaiver.

Thank goodness! Congratulations on the fortitude and organizational skills to successfully submit that many applications in one admissions cycle! Good luck tonight!!!

True - UF is a reach for everyone!

It’s a lower level reach for me, but it’s still crazy difficult.

Vanderbilt, Texas-Austin
i think there were a few other reaches I saw you on or post about.

Yeah - our high reaches would be Carnegie Mellon and UPenn. The one thing that we have going for Carnegie Mellon is that we met with the admissions officer who looked at my daughter’s art portfolio and said that she will would definitely pass to the next phase based on her art. Still - very difficult to get in. Our other reach is William & Mary - but more people with my kids stats got into William & Mary than they did for UF.

There are so many people applying to so many schools that it contributes to the difficulty of Universities choosing who to accept and who to decline. Common App and sites like Niche have made it too easy. It’s the only reason that all of the application numbers continue to go up every year. There are actually a declining number of high school students going to college but because of the ease of Common App/Niche it looks like applications go up. It’s just the same people applying to every school.

I withdrew from Vanderbilt, rejected from UT business school.

I heard that too.
