Yes, in my experience the “supporting students” email is something that goes out to EVERY applicant. I don’t think they have a separate mailing list for accepted and rejected students when it comes to things like this
And if you did not get it, it was probably because parent contact info was not put on the app or something like that. Could just also be a glitch in their system. Nothing to glean from these two emails.
Almost positive he did, especially because my husband and I are both receiving emails from another school he was accepted to EA. So strange that some received and some didn’t. There are times when it’s a sign and times when it’s random. I guess he will know soon enough!
Agreed. And it’s one of the reasons that I urge parents and students to not lean too far into the whole “portal astrology” thing. It could mean something, or it could just mean that IT glitched. Either way, there’s already far too much stress in the college application process to add on additional guessing.
I agree. Portal Astrology is fun, and there are times when it is correct, but this is not an example of that.
100%
My daughter was just deferred OOS to FSU. Concerned this doesn’t forebode well for UF. Need to think positive!
This is the second time I’ve been through this with my kids, and in 4 years it is even worse…this process is horrific. The anxiety it causes. Comparing yourself with others, so hard on them. My daughter HAD to get to California, and did, and then transferred across the country two years later. I know they will all get where they need to be but it’s rough…
So sorry to hear that! Just remember that a rejection from one doesn’t necessarily predict the other. Admissions are very unpredictable!
Someone said they know several people who got denied at FSU, but got in at UF. So don’t lose hope!
Thank you for this intel! My fingers and toes are crossed for her UF acceptance!
My daughter just received an email from UF asking her to check her Status in order to have everything ready for F23. Anyone else?
Yes, email came out about an hour ago, I think?
Yep everyone got it. Means nothing admission wise.
Yes it went to everyone we had an email for in our records. The student one is to make sure they can get into to check the status page so there aren’t issues next week.
My son put his own email address down with my name, so he got both the student and the parent email.
That’s smart. I wish I thought to do that.
Thanks so much for always answering our questions and easing our concerns!
Did anyone get the email on how to prepare if you are rejected??
clarifying it came to me (the parent)
