University of Florida Class of 2028 Official Thread

I wonder if that includes PACE and similar, because if it does, the acceptance rate for on campus was probably more like 15-16%

Typically, PACE is included in the transfer acceptance rate and in a separate calculation. The most recent common data set show UF accepted 44% (2,364 out of 5,326) transfer applicants.

I wondered about this and if the 2 plus 2 engineering pathways are counted in the transfer rate.
The true unaffiliated with any UF program, ie. PACE, 2 plus 2, transfer acceptance rate would be substantially lower

Right. Would be interesting if there was any way to confirm this, since the inclusion of PACE, etc. would explain why the transfer acceptance rate looks surprisingly high.

What taxes exactly? Paid more to Disney than all my taxes put together. It’s a fact that OOS runs Florida economy. So why whine when higher stat kids get in?

Wow lol Go on….

Also - UF would lose its national ranking without OOS students. You can’t have a nationally ranked school without kids from all over.

So true - in our case, our $ went to Universal!

I just think it’s never a good idea to tell people how to spend their money especially when you’re asking them to spend it on you

Let’s be honest, the system is not perfect, never was, probably never will be. Please be kind and let the parents and kids express their frustration and offer your support if you can. Do not believe they need any lecturing. Society as a whole, collectively someone is always subsidizing someone else, be grateful when you are favored by the system and know that it might not feel as great at the opposite end and it could well be you down the road in other situations. Wish you well.

A reminder that College Confidential is not a debate society. Make your point and move on, please, and return focus to UF C28.

Has anyone been able to obtain the profile of accepted students for this cycle? I like how FSU releases that information on the day of decisions. Also, does anyone know if it is difficult to get into the OOS Living Learning community on campus?

I don’t remember how late preview dates will be offered, it was 2 years ago last time I did it. But I think there were some options leading up to when classes start

It usually takes a while for UF to release the data.
However based on last few years data I expect stats to rise compared to last year.
Admission rate percentage i expect to be lower with more applications this year by November deadline compared to last year.

Thanks. I will be reaching out to the new student office when preview regeistration opens to get a better understanding of my options. By the way, it looks like preview sign-ups open Tuesday for anyone who wants to get signed up right away.

My kid took what I think was then the last available preview date when he finally decided he was going to UF at the end of April. You cdnt sign up for preview u til you paid the deposit. That was mid-July. But then they added more preview days later, if my memory is right.

That’s what I am guessing as well.

Does anyone know how much AP and Clep credit they will take? Because I would like to CLEP most of my freshman classes over the summer if there is no limit. The goal is to either graduate in three years and/or be able to double major.

I wasn’t involved with my kid’s room selection so I’m not positive but he and his roommate (found via sone UF Instagram connection) are both OOS and did not get it—at one point they said they were interested, I’m not positive if they opted out at some point. The OOS community is housed in a dorm that is very central so kids like it. I’m forgetting the name. I think there weren’t rooms available in that dorm when it came time for my son’s appointment—and my kid did have a deposit in in November to hold his place.

That said, there are many OOS kids in his dorm, he’s made a lot of friends from his floor and has already twice (as a first year) flown back early to meet up with some in different Florida cities and then driven with friends back to school. He’s found it easy to make friends—and he was not into the frat scene so didn’t rush.
