Agree with @mikeswede. The other things are definently more important, but they won’t excuse a super low score.
Somebody already asked how “low”. So I would add how “strong”? 
anyway, if the AO is tearing reading your essay, you probably have a good chance

6 more days everyone! I can hardly wait.
It’s kind of weird to think that even though decisions won’t be announced for 6 days, the vast majority (if not all) decisions have already been made.
Yeah, it is. But it’s also makes me feel a bit better that it’s probably been done for me and it won’t be changing, no matter what the specific decision is. Don’t know why I feel this way. It’s weird lol.
If I remember correctly, 6 days before Purdue’s decision, there already were signs in its portal as they started updating the system and uploading the decision. Other universities had no signs until couple hours before the decision
I wonder if UF will have similar early signs.

If it’s anything like previous years, they won’t have any portal astrology. The only thing that happend last year (and it only has happend once) is that they sent UF email set up info to about half of the admitted group or so. I think that happend the day of or maybe the day before.
Do you know if anyone who got rejected got that email too? that’s when it would really suck.
Is UF the last school you are waiting on?
I don’t think so, but I could be wrong about that. I just brifely looked at last year’s thread.
Technically I have UW (my instate flaship) and Georgia Tech defer after, but this is the one I care about most by far.
I see. If you got into Georgia Tech - would you go there over UF? One thing I like about Florida schools is that they require SATs - so you have a better idea of what they are looking for and you are not relying on inflated test scores.
I might consider it, but I love UF a lot. Totally agree about test scores being required. It does help. I’m very happy to be just under the 75th percentile for ACT! I hope it is good enough.
Good luck! Out of curiosity - what is it about UF that you like so much? I think I shared on another board that we are considering UCF as well.
Also- the test optional thing really screwed people like you and my daughter the most - kids with high test scores, but not necessary at the NMF level.

I like UCF as well and i’m happy to have acceptance there! UF is just my top choice because I love the feel on campus. It was one of the few schools that I toured where everyone was amazing. I also like the facilities and they are great for my major. Plus the weather is amazing which I appreciate after living in Washington State all of my life. There’s not really one specific thing I like better, it just felt right compared to other places I toured.

That’s good to know! We have not even toured any Florida schools yet. We figured that we would wait until acceptances.
