Yeah. I just visited them during a trip down to Florida for disneyworld. But I think it’s definently important to visit. OSU was my top choice before, but once I visited, I knew it was not right for me.
Just curious what you didn’t care for at OSU - was going to take my daughter there who was admitted - she prefers warmer weather however.
Oh wow - what didn’t you like about OSU? another school that we have not visited.
The weather was part of it, but it just did not feel right overall. I did not get the same happy feeling like I did at UF based on some of the intertactions I had. I can’t really pinpoint a specific reason why I did not like it. I just think it’s so important to visit. Only you can determine what feels right. OSU might be perfect for you, but it just is not for me.
My daughter did not like the Big 10 schools at all. Applied to 0 after visiting several.
OSU just seems absolutely huge. I’m taking her to Auburn University this weekend - campus seems lovely.
Yes. You can see in the class of 27 chat
Wow - can you imaging getting the email thinking you got in only to find out that you didn’t!
I bet they won’t be making that mistake again. I don’t think we will have any clue till 6pm Friday! 6 days, 5 hours, and 53 minutes away . Yes I have countdown lol.
I’ve been following UF admissions for about 4 years now because of my kids. I don’t recall someone with a score of or near a 1210 being accepted. However, the ECs and grades you mention are strong. It will be interesting to see what happens.
I don’t recall whether UF is test optional or test required. 1210 SAT with strong GPA, ECs and essays could be a perfect candidate for test optional.
No test optional at UF. UF (and all Florida publics) are test required. They always have been even in 2020.
OMG, this weekend will be crazy because of the AU vs Kentucky basketball game - especially if you get there Friday night or Saturday - LOTS of kids out and about and lots of tents and hammocks waiting in line to get in. LOVE that place! Actually, just realized you may mean not today/tomorrow but next weekend - probably regular spring weekend!
Wow! Awesome! Thank you for sharing. We’ll be there tomorrow and Monday. Coming from New Jersey. It looks really great
Thank you for you guys input. I applied test optional nearly everywhere else and have gotten in (umich, unc, usc). Im a Florida resident, so getting into UF would be great for the tuition benefits. Let’s hope for the best
Good luck to you! I hope it works out.
Waiting for 2/23 – Any thoughts on comparing UF vs USF vs U.Miami for student life? Already accepted to USF and Miami for business. OOS student, not sure about acceptance to UF due to SAT 1180 but GPA 3.9/4.0 and 4.3W, Many EC: eagle scout, varsity sports, club leader, community service, part-time work, summer leadership program. Disregarding Miami’s $$$, all three have all the college stuff - nice recreation center, sports, good academics, lots of student organizations, greek life. With UF being a college town, I’m sure school spirit is high. USF and UM are near more things to do like beaches, major league sports, etc. Looking to find out if UF has student bus trips away from the campus like to the beaches or Orlando for Disney and Universal.
I know there is a student club at UF that goes to Universial and/or Disney literally ever weekend. Don’t know if they use buses or if you drive though.
I was just there this week. It has a beautiful campus, is incredibly friendly, and has great programs. It’s the “Goldilocks” school - not too big, not too small, just right. And no NE “angst” - I can say that as that is where we live.
I agree, same for my son. I trust all will find their spot eventually.
