Ohio State turned into DEI hell. That’s a big reason we’re here!

Saw on another group PACE offers were about 2000 down from around 2800 last year
Cannot verify from UF
No word on IA offers this year last year freshman class was between 250- 300 if i remember correctly but not sure on admitted numbers

Wow that is significant drop! So I guess last year a lot more people accepted than they thought? I’m curious to see what the admitted profile is for this cycle for all groups (Innovation Academy, Sante Fe, Fall and Summer admits, OOS). Does anyone know when UF starts providing these numbers? Or does UF usually not publish these things?

FSU Presidential Honors notified us through email and asked him to complete two videos. Finalists are being picked this week for on campus interviews.

Good luck!

This is big reason a lot of kids are not going to certain schools. Kids want to learn history, science, math, etc. They don’t want to be “taught” how they should think or feel regarding “social issues.”

So I have dual enrollment credits, but I do NOT want them added to my UF transcript if at all possible. They would lower the GPA I am hoping to earn in college, and this GPA will have implications for my law school admissions. Can I just not send them my DE transcript? Or do all of those classes have to be added. I am planning to re-get all of the credits that I got in the dual enrollments via CLEP by the way if that matters.

If I remember right, the updated stats and CDS were not posted only the exact day their application opened which was like a week into August. I don’t think they publish breakdowns of all the different groups though.

Sorry, you have to send them and they will be posted to your record.

Thanks. It is correct that these grades won’t be calculated into my overall GPA right? I see online that there is a seperate UFGPA. Is that the only GPA that is reported on a UF transcript? Are the dual enrollments just recorded as pass or fail? Sorry, i’m kind of confused.

I think you may be wasting your time taking CLEP tests for courses you’ll already get credit for.

Many, if not all, law schools require you to provide all college courses you have taken, even those in high school.

I’m just doing it because I don’t know if the credits for the DE college will transfer. And cleps are free and I don’t need to study for them when I already took the class. No problem if I don’t end up needing them.

That’s why I was hoping to hide it from my overall transcript. I just am hoping that the damage has not already been done for selective law school admissions. The grades I got (from freshman year of HS) have the potential to weigh down my college GPA quite a bit.

When will UF send us the total direct cost? And do anyone know where can we see it?

Admitted Student Tour or Florida Days - which one would be better for an OOS student who has never before stepped foot on campus?

I’m assuming that OOS merit awards are typically offered to accepted students that an institution covets and wants to provide with extra incentive, but could it also be simply related to how the applicant answered the financial aid question on the Common App? As in, if an applicant responded that they didn’t intend to seek financial aid, would a school like UF exclude those applicants from the merit evaluation - regardless how competitive their application was?

Everything on that transcript will be seen, but I imagine, if they look closely at the details they won’t put too much weight on freshman DE grades, provided you have stellar UF grades. If UF does it the way FSU does with my D’s, you’ll have a UF GPA and a combined GPA on the transcript.

On a side note, I did all of college as a working adult, paying my way as I go. I completed CC with a high GPA then transferred and also did well, but had a couple hiccups with accounting classes along the way, primarily due to work demands.
I decided years later on a career change, and decided to apply to law schools. The combined college GPA is what was considered, so my CC grades helped in my case.

My suggestion is to work your butt off to get mostly As in college. Degree major didn’t matter back when I went, and I don’t think it does now, so do classes that will ensure you get the A. When it’s time for the LSAT, blow that out the water and you should be able to get nods from selective law schools. Of course along with the extraordinary essays I know you will write. Good luck in all your endeavors, you’ve got my admiration!

we said we want financial aid (OOS), my daughter made the honors list with gator scholarship, which in effect makes the tuition fee in-state
