University of Florida Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

I have heard from a few people around campus that it was 60k EA, and 30k Rd (not including defers). Not sure how true that is, but it’s just a really competitive year no matter what.

Agree. I heard a number similar to that as well. I also heard that they admitted 1400 ( about) to the honors college and expect to admit 500-600 more. Hopefully, that means 30-35% of decisions are left to RD. Assuming a low deferral rate, the odds look better than those of the EA.

I wish UF would publish the EA stats-admitted, denied, deferred. How many apps are there now for RD with deferrals included? Just from social media, there seems to have been a large number of deferrals.

Hey Melissa, thank you for taking the time to respond to all of these questions! Recently was deferred, no way and/or reason to send a LOCI, right?

Right, don’t send anything to us.

Hi Melissa,

Were there a lot of deferrals? Of the 60k EA what percentage was deferred?

does this also indicate that mid year reports are not considered for deferred applicants?

Yes, please do not send us mid-year grades.

if a student was born in Florida and have a Fl Prepaid account and have then moved OOS, do they select in state for tuition purposes on the application? Are they looked at as an OOS student or an in state student?

They would click on the Florida Resident by Exception and claim Florida Pre-Paid as the reason why.

Hey - I was deferred. Is there any way to know whether i’ll get in or why I was deferred (EG, was there just a cap on number of EA students admissible)? Also, any estimates for deferred to accepted?

Wait till the 14th

Oh come on :sob:

This is the first year with EA and Deferred
So no clue… you will be setting the bar

Yes I know I’m setting the bar. I was asking for the bar setter’s opinion however (Melissa96 sets the bar, not me. She says who goes and who stays.)

. No one person makes any decision for freshman. Everything is done by multiple committees.

Does it help we are releasing at 5:30 instead of 6?

Im wondering now - do yall use a reccomendation machine?
