in state applicant who got deferred here……. does anyone have an idea of what chances look like for people who were deferred ea?? i know there isn’t a ton of official data b/c they only started doing deferrals like a year ago but a lot of my friends who currently attend say that the chances are fairly high? 
i’m so crazy nervous for friday guys

I GOT IN!!! (in-state, entomology major, 4.27w/1470sat, deferred ea) UF was my top choice school and i’m so insanely excited especially after the strugglefest that was my hs career can’t wait to go this fall!!!

Did anyone get financial aid? We didn’t get it from 2 colleges: Pitt and UF and I am concerned that maybe I missed something. We did FAFSA in the fall.

Didn’t say, no slides with that info. Some quick comment suggested yield was high 50s this year vs low 60s last year among highest performers? Maybe honors? Wasn’t clear.
also, there was —to me—a sort of weird back and forth at the end of day one about the value of OOS students. I knew they expanded the incoming first year class 2 years ago but I hadn’t heard why. The board convo indicated they expanded by 800 students to allow them to admit more (higher performing) OOS students while also allowing them not to reduce in-state students admitted (thst increased, too, they said.) They suggested the strong growth in student test scores especially from the last couple of years was tied to this student body growth and more OOS students. It was weird to me bc/o the singular focus on test scores as a measure of academic talent basically. I generally am in favor test scores in the admissions process but this discussion was just a little much, even for me.
there was no data shared to bear any of this out. It may exist but it wasn’t shared.
They also talked about the ways they supported outreach to and continued progress of low income students—they seemed to genuinely be coming from a place of ensuring finances and/awareness didn’t stop strong students from all walks of life from applying and succeeding at UF. I liked hearing this stuff.
