University of Florida Essay Topics

For those wanting to know, the University of Florida essay topics are:

  1. You have been elected President of the United States. Write your inauguration speech for us.

2.Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Our loyalties must transcend our race, our tribe, our class, and our nation; and this means we must develop a world perspective.” Describe a time when your perspective changed. How did your perspective change and why did it change?

  1. If you were offered the role of the villain or the hero in a movie, which role would you accept and why?

4.If admitted to the University of Florida, tell us three SPECIFIC things you plan to do during your time here.

My initial thought was to attempt the first topic, but I don’t think I am well versed in the issues of today to write a good inaugural speech. So, I turned to topic number 3. However, I am a bit stuck. Can anyone help me think of reasons why you would want to be the villain -or the hero- in a movie? My main inspiration for wanting to be the villain is the variation in character you’re able to have (ex: Heath Ledger’s Joker is a beautifully done villain) but I’m not sure that this would be a good enough reason for a college admissions officer.
