University of Florida: Regular Decision 2024

@mom2gr8girls I believe the person who works in admissions said merit scholarships would be posted last night but fin aid would be another week or so:

See her posts in Merit Scholarships:

“I believe financial aid is still a week or so away.”

“The scholarship folks were still working when I left which was after 5. If I hear definitively, I’ll let you know.”

So I assume Merit scholarships were posted sometime last night after her post but Financial aid will be coming later

@Mom2NND Thanks. My D is NMF so I’m assuming will get merit scholarship, but no word.

Has any OOS students heard about merit scholarships?

I just spoke to Candace in the FA dept at UF and she said they won’t be ready til “mid to late March”. ugh.

Does anyone have information on what happens to scholarship money if not used for dorm/meal plan? Im considering off campus living for my dd…

Folllowing…we have same question

All prepaid/scholarship money goes towards fees due and then anything left over gets deposited into the student’s bank account.

@Melissa96 Do you know if the information about FA is accurate as far as mid to late march release?

I sent an email to admissions today asking when students would receive notification of the NMF and Benacquisto scholarship. Here is the reply I received. I was under the impression from the UF website that all nmf who listed UF as first choice would receive NMF scholarship. Am I misunderstanding something?

Scholarship recipients will be notified by email by mid-March of their scholarship awards. We had a very strong applicant pool and only a few hundred students were able to receive awards.

We also encourage students to search for scholarships using available scholarship engines. There are many reputable sites available, but our Financial Affairs office provides a great deal of scholarship information which can be at http://www.sfa.ufl.edu/search/

Good luck to you as you plan for your academic future, and GO GATORS!

Sorry false alarm. Whew. Here is the email I got back.

Sorry…all national merit finalists who list UF as their number one choice are eligible for the Beacquisto.

Hello
Are you saying that only a few hundred will receive the NMF scholarship and ultimately the benacquisto? The UF website says that All NMF that list UF as their first choice will receive a nmf scholarship.

Thank you.

How would I find out who the moderator of this forum is??

Has anyone heard if UF is considering cancelling upcoming tours or “Florida Days” for admitted students due to covid-19 concerns? So many other schools are starting to cancel large events like this, we are wondering if UF will follow suit.

@amsunshine I emailed UF today but didn’t hear back as we are supposed to go next Monday March 16 for Florida Days and since we are oos it would be helpful to know sooner than later.

@twinmommy will you please post if you get a response regarading Florida Days? We are OOS and plan to go on Friday March 20, so if they are cancelling it we would prefer to know as soon as possible.

@Mom2NND I sure will post. I also left UF a voicemail today as well. I have a feeling they are probably in the process of deciding since I didn’t hear anything back yet.

So far everything is still a go. Today is the first day back from spring break. Everything is subject to change at a moment’s notice if people end up quarantined.

Just saw an article that UF provost is asking that professors start to transition face-to-face classes to online classes. This may not bode well for Florida Days…

Yes I saw that as well.

@mom2gr8girls @twinmommy Could you by any chance link that article?
