University of Illinois Chicago Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

This is the official thread for those applying EA to University of Illinois - Chicago (UIC).

List your unweighted GPA, any SAT /ACT scores, and ECs. What majors are you going into?
Ask your questions, the CC community is here to help!

Has anyone /their student here applied, and if so how long did it take to get your portal info email? C26 applied a week ago and hasn’t received anything yet.

Does any one know when will UIC let us know of decisions?

Thanks - that was a couple of months ago, and that was exactly what happened -they had used the email associated with the college board account rather than the one on the common app.

Sorry, I edited my response after realizing that your message was from a couple months ago. But I am glad that got sorted for you.

Their website is a little unclear but it seems by Monday, but possibly Tuesday…in past years I believe some students heard earlier. They originally said on the FAQ page that they start releasing on 1 December to be complete by 15 December, but now that just says 15 Dec.

No problem, maybe this will help future students wondering the same thing!

Do you know if they release merit aid decisions along with the admit decision, or that another long wait?

No idea, sorry.
Edit: google AI says it comes later.
It sounds like merit awards are pretty limited though.

Another edit - from their FAQ page:

When am I informed of a scholarship award?
There is no schedule that determines when we announce rewards. Many will be issued at the time of admission, and others may be rewarded by the end of Apri

C26 accepted to architecture. OOS merit award of “over $8000” a year. Middling GPA but strong SAT.

how come, unlike other universities, my application status page would not allow me to apply for potentials general scholarship opportunities. Does any one know how to apply for general scholarships in advance?

Applicants are reviewed automatically for scholarships they’re eligible for with admission, then there are a number more that you first have to be admitted to apply for.

unlike other universities I do not get any email be it about scholarship or something related to marketing. so kinda worries us.

My child has less than 4.5 gpa but excellent sat. OOS as well. Do you think we have any chances in stem programs.

Did your student apply EA or RD?

Makes sense about the scholarships if they are automatic or you need to be admitted first. I think we’ve only gotten emails from them after admission, and then just a couple.

I don’t know much about their STEM programs but at least from my kid, it looks like they value high test scores. I’d be cautiously optimistic.

EA with 1560 sat score. Fingers crossed.

My kid’s EA decision came out over a month ago. What does it say in his portal?

how come. they aren’t suppose to comeout before Jan 30 istn’t it.? it says complete for early action.

Dec 15. Did he get any emails to say his decision would be late? And just checking you do mean UIC and not UIUC?
