University of Illinois Urbana Champaign Early Action for Fall 2025 Admissions

Ok I found it on Reddit. This person went on to break down the actual number of applicants which put these in perspective. Some of these majors get fewer applicants which account for higher acceptance rates

Who’s ready to play the portal astrology game? lol…
One indicator of course is the possibility of being able to access the admitted student events very close to decision notification. Don’t even try it before tomorrow morning.

Another thing I have found is reference to some ā€œnumber 98ā€, with no clarity of what it means and where/how to look for it. Someone posted about it on this thread y’day, but that post has since disappeared.

Expect tomorrow’s results to be brutal… the class of 2029 not only has to pay the price for inadvertent overenrollment in 2028, but if other colleges are any indication there will be a new record number of applications at UIUC too. Then there’s a probable increase of in-state transfer students which might exacerbate the housing shortage (https://wgntv.com/news/illinois/u-of-i-system-guarantees-admission-for-illinois-high-school-grads-looking-to-transfer/amp/).

I’m all for progressive policies, but ā€œguaranteeingā€ admissions without even making sure you have the capacity and resources to support high quality education is irresponsible. First, it makes the students who worked hard and took pride in earning their place feel stupid, and then you also dilute their academic experience.

I agree that applications and likely up and the admissions rate will go down just like it’s been since 2021. However the transfer guarantee doesn’t guarantee a specific campus so those transfers still need to meet the criteria just as they always have. It will be interesting to see the data for transfers after this admission cycle.

There is a minimum GPA required and they are not guaranteed Urbana.

That makes better sense, particularly the campus part.

My withdraw application link now says ā€œYou are not eligible to submit this form.ā€

FWIW, as this is my 3rd go-around (have one graduating this Spring at UCI and a second year at UMich), TRY to treasure your last half year with your kiddos before they leave the nest. May decisions will be here soon enough and your kid, wherever they end up, will be just fine!! Fittingly, trust the process… :slightly_smiling_face: You’ll look back and be glad you did.

There isn’t a night when I sleep before wetting my pillow thinking about what life will be like when my one and only will be off to her college… day time is dedicated to do my bit to help her land where she deserves to be.

I’m gonna miss mine so much… but want her to have the greatest time of her life!

Same. I wonder if there are some who still get the option to withdraw, in which case it could be a sign.

I checked when OP mentioned, and mine was same as it has been i’ll check again in a moment

Mine still same as it ever was….

are you clicking on it?
Sorry, just want to make sure we’re doing the same thing. I also still see the option, but when I click on it, I see the same message what OP mentioned.

same was it like this before

The withdraw button is still there but I’m afraid to press on it. Is your button gone? Or is the button there but the link doesn’t work when you press on it?

Edit: nevermind. I see your recent post

not being able to withdraw (if some others still can) can mean 3 things:-

  1. It will eventually be blocked for everyone as they are uploading results, in which case it means nothing
  2. You are accepted
  3. You are rejected, not deferred.

I clicked on the option ā€œApplication Withdrawal Formā€; top item under ā€œApplication Change Request Formsā€, got this:

Then backed out as tenderly as possible…
