University of Iowa in Iowa City or Des Moines?

<p>I was watching the Daily Iowan TV and they indicated to the viewers that the university is looking at opening a campus in Des Moines. I was wondering if anyone know why the university may open another campus within the state? Typically, such as New York University, Michigan State University, American University etc… you may see a campus open somewhere else out of the nation ( across seas). The news reporters asked questions on how they know education quality would be the same like the main campus etc… as a possible student I wonder if this could effect the campus in Iowa City with student life, recognition etc…
Anyone know anything about it?</p>

<p>I think what they were referring to is the Social Work program and/or Distance Education. There is not going to be another full fledged campus in Des Moines, more of an educational center for students to take a few classes.</p>
