Hey, I just came across this school situated near LA. I haven’t been able to gather much information about it and how good is it. All I saw was it being ranked #159 by US News. I was surprised after running it’s NPC (with EFC 0), it left a gap of just a couple thousand dollars. What are your opinions of this school? How well is it reputed outside California? Is La Verne a safe area? Any current students / alumni options are highly appreciated, especially with regards to their School of Business (Finance/Economics).
I guess the real question is what other schools are you comparing it to? Locally, I’d expect Univ of Redlands to be pretty similar(?). I’m not sure the name of school itself will open a ton of doors, but I believe hard working, motivated students can have good results from any number of schools.
Location should be fine. You’re also pretty close to the Claremont Colleges and Cal Poly Pomona. Good luck!

I don’t think they meet need so you should apply EA and apply for their merit scholarships.
Would love to go to California for college
I’m wondering why does University of La Verne’s net price calculator shows me final cost as $1,722 after all the grants and loans?Does this school has a track record of awarding such huge school grants (north of $40,000) for high stat, EFC 0 applicants? Or are they just fooling and bluffing around by front loading of grants?
The NPC result may not be accurate. They may have packaged extra loans. They may consider you a desirable applicant and try to lure you with money. You can only find out if you apply, which is relatively easy, and I think they have EA. Do demonstrate interest (fill out the request info form, exchange with Admissions…)
