D26 applied EA in early October and was accepted early November. Although she got $12K/year in merit it’s still one of the more expensive options on her list which is a shame because she really liked UMaine and what would have been one to “keep on the list for final decisions” is likely becoming a scratch.

D3 earned a honors and a scholarship from UMaine. She and mom are visiting at the end of January (2026) for an accepted student day. I’m curious about housing. We like the campus, the major, the advisors we’ve met from Marine Bio and Honors. How are Colvin, Balentine and Penobscot?
