Another observation I’ve made after being on these threads/boards for several years:
UMD does not have a lot of merit to give out. At many schools, one might assume that if chosen for something like Honors and an LEP, they might get merit as well. Not true. SOME kids get both, some get neither, but my observation is that UMD tends to “spread it around.”

Scholarships are not included in the decision notice. Merit awards will come out a few weeks from now

Just looked at kids’ portal? UMD’s application portal doesn’t have any color change, no banner, no sign of decision coming or anything… other than saying the " Application Package Status is complete", it didn’t even tell us whether it is EA or RD?
It doesn’t. Acceptance to honors and scholars (just like admissions, and probably merit as well) is completely holistic at UMD. Kids in my area that are similar stats wise (i.e. all high stats) have received varied results.

This is very true. People focus on Stats, but Stats alone do not guarantee anything at UMD.
Anything to look at prior to 4:00 to note changes ? What will the portal change to ? Thanks!

The last couple of years, decisions were out closer to 4:45. There will be a link to the decision letter.

Be warned that once people start posting that decisions are out, the servers will quickly get JAMMED. Two years ago, after an hour of trying, my son finally was able to see his acceptance by going in incognito mode. Not sure why this helped, but it did.

Sorry - that seems to be a google chrome term. Other browsers may just call it “private” mode. Essentially it’s using a browser without creating cookies or a trail. I really don’t know why it assisted him get into the jammed portal but it seemed to help, so maybe worth a try!

Most likely between 4 and 6pm today.
I’m not sure it would help when the site is busy. What I would do is try to login to the portal early and refresh the session often but that may not a guarantee.
