Curious if those of you who got the presidential are in state or OOS. My son is in state, was accepted to honors college, but only got the deans for $1500. And it’s non renewable.

According to UMDs site, Presidential is available for in and OOS. Dean’s is in state only.

Wow- this is a first - UMD sending important emails and not on a Friday afternoon!

Everyone, please keep in mind that it’s a very holistic process they use and only 20% total get offered merit. So that means tons of kids in Honors, Scholars and LEPs do not get anything and some kids in none of those programs will get something. Very hard to predict!

My in state DD got 20k presidents scholarship. Also honors college.

Very fortunate and totally unexpected
OOS, 70K, business major, no honors (not a big deal for us) if that helps anyone. Think D got “scholars”. Wish we could give to DMV Mom’s daughter as ours is going elsewhere.

In State Daughter who was already admitted to Bus/Mkt and Honors College got a Dean’s List for $4500 per year for Fresh and Soph year!

Pleasant surprise! Daughter OOS Business Scholars offered 40k Presidential. More than expected from previous yrs boards but not as much as some other school offers. Definitely makes UMD a consideration.

My D didn’t get an e-mail :frowning_face:. Something would’ve been nice. Although we weren’t expecting anything. She asked about the honors programs, and apparently, her high school just didn’t prepare her enough to compete with some of these high schools that are producing kids with very high GPAs and SATs, even though my D was top 2% in her class.

My OOS son got 40K Presidential! That was a pleasant surprise. He didn’t get into honors or any LLC.
