@BrielleNJ oh girl me too, its totally normal to be anxious for this, but what ever it says, its not gonna make us or break us, like if we get in, all our problems won’t go away, but if we get denied, then that just means that we have an even better path ahead of us with opportunities that maybe we wouldn’t have gotten at UMD but I have you in my thoughts I really hope we get in!
In 2018, the checklist only starting disappearing around 5 pm, so it’s not necessarily an indicator. Just check UMD’s social media at 5pm and you’ll know if it’s released or not.
Percent chance i get in OOS with a 4.5 GPA and 1460 SAT for Comp Sci. I also have a 790 Math 2
that gives me some hope
@ccorley23 thanks for keeping hope alive for the day! ?
I submitted my application to UMD on October 31st, but it looks like some of my materials were received after the deadline. For the other school I applied to through Coalition, it says “Fall 2020 (Early Action)” but it only says “Fall 2020” next to my UMD application. Is this a problem? I know I selected Early Action when applying, but I’m worried I’ve made a mistake.
Soco45 didn’t they extend the application to nov 15th
@soco45 I would call the Admissions Office today to confirm. You will probably be on hold for a while but it is probably worth it.
My S20’s information all came in before the deadline but did not show an “Application Complete” date until November 7th. They told me that his application was fine for EA but in your situation you should call to be sure.
@joebar Yo I have kinda similar stats to you! 4.0 gpa with a 1550 sat. (I can’t tell with the gpa since that varies pretty wildly from school to school). UMD is a safety for me, so I think you will probably get in (judging from my school’s Naviance scattergram). I’m also applying cs OOS, which is a lep. I dunno if its certain in getting into that program specifically though.
yooooooo. wassup wassup wassup.
Mine says “Fall 2020” as well and my other school states Fall 2020 (Early Action). I think it only refers to the term you applied to.
Joebar, your numbers look fine for UMD geneal admissions, assuming other elements are ok. CS admission is going to depend on courses in HS cs. Most admitted to cs LED have several AP’s in cs with 4s and 5s. They do love math students so the 790 is great but they don’t look at SAT2 as much as reg SAT MATH sub score. And they REALLY like lots of AP’s.
@KarenF908 Your stats are definitely better than mine but its reassuring it is your safety. My naviance has me confidently getting into Maryland but I’m nervous about getting into CS. Thank you for the kind words.
@thentt I’ve taken two CS AP’s one with a five, the other I haven’t tested yet. My sub is 760. I think I’d get in general admission but I’m so nervous about getting into CS. I’d say theres only a 40% chance.
ok do we think its coming out today or what
Has anyone called asking
@bellag815…I think we are all hoping for today & if not, should be tomorrow. No one knows for sure…unfortunately
It is tomorrow I called and asked
I have to admit…whether my son gets in EA or not, I am going to miss coming here every day and reading the anxiety on this thread. It’s become a part of my routine!
Hey guys can someone chance me at UMD? Im so nervous that I won’t get in, I only applied to UMD and nowhere else so I really need this:
SAT:1050
ACT: didn’t take
Gpa: weighted: 3.5
OOS
female
mixed
AP courses: I didn’t take any AP courses but I took majority honors with only 5 merit.
Extracurriculars: jv swim (freshman year)
manga club secretary
Honors and Awards: character counts award (10th grade), most likely to be a news anchor (8th grade)
