@ImStillDre: Your family loves you and you are going places
they are proud of you! The fact that you are so focused that you’re on this forum speaks volumes about you. Keep moving forward & keep achieving!

Admitted! 3.95 gpa and a 1520 SAT.

OOS son accepted to Smith Business, Honors.

Some questions

Does Honors come with merit aid? And what’s the difference between honors and scholars?

Also, if you are in honors do you have to live in living and learning?

Congrats to all of you authorized payers!!! :wink:

D20 admitted OOS scholars program. This forum has been fun :slight_smile:

Has anyone else still not gotten a decision??

Does anyone know if there’s a Facebook group for accepted students yet?

TO THOSE THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE
it likely means your application is not complete (as thus you did not qualify for EA). I know your Coalition page may indicate it’s complete, but unfortunately it may not be complete in Maryland’s view. Ran into this issue a couple of years ago with my son, who’s application said complete but he never received a response. He found out the following Monday when he called the office that a transcript was missing even though his coalition page said COMPLETE. Maryland basically said tough luck, it’s your responsibility to make sure everything is in and we’re not responsible for marking it complete, so now you need to wait 3 more months for your decision

If you scroll down to Living Learning Communities on this FAQ it (sort of) explains the difference between Honors and College Park Scholars: https://admissions.umd.edu/enroll/freshman-admission-decision-faqs
It sounds like Honors has a more academic focus and is more competitive to get into, but Scholars sounds great, too.

The same FAQ (under merit and financial aide) says that they notify about merit scholarships by March 1st. https://admissions.umd.edu/enroll/freshman-admission-decision-faqs

Actually, it answers lots of questions people have asked: why wasn’t I accepted into my requested major? what’s the deal with spring admittance. etc. Check it out.

did scholarships come out

Got into UMD, my LEP (Business), and scholars!!

Everything has a received date before feb 1, wow, not even given a fair chance.

@ImStillDre

Not getting accepted does not reflect on you as a person or student. Don’t be discouraged as everything works out in the end.

Sometimes the difference between someone who gets in or not is pure luck. There are plenty of kids on CC who have great stats yet do not get the offers they desire.

I hope you and your family get past the initial disappointment and focus on the wins! You must have worked hard in HS and did well to even apply to UMD.

Good luck to you.

@ImStillDre I’m sorry that you are concerned about how your family will react. UMDCP is a hard admit. My son was rejected and we kind of expected it. He was accepted at UMBC though. Have you applied to other MD state schools?

got accepted for spring semester as a psychology major!
1150 sat, 3.34 weighted gpa, 1 ap and several honors classes, done band all 4 years as well as community service. honestly so shocked that i got in at all but still grateful.

@ncwj45 - FC is first come-first serve and I believe that enrollment begins March 1

someone let me know if a Facebook page is made for class of 2024

Links for Honors and Scholars preferences will appear on the portal soon, but it may take a day or so for the links to work

Scholarships will come out in a week or 2

@flipper15
I was admitted for spring (in-state), my stats are 1390 SAT, 4.25 GPA (MOCO so it’s inflated), ECs are Boy Scouts (1st class), 270 hr volunteering, JV XC/track since sophomore year
