Well, all of you were right about that link! My son was admitted (OOS) to computer science in the Manning College of Information & Computer Sciences with a chancellor’s award. Hurray! I am breathing again!
My daughter was admitted OOS with a $12,000 Chancellor Scholarship for the political science program.
Basically same stats and D24 waitlisted too during EA (Nursing).
Congrats
Would you mind sharing your son’s stats?
Thank you for the information on how many they took off wait list last year.
D24 just accepted today with $12K Chancellor’s Award. She had been waitlisted a few weeks back from EA, so we weren’t expecting to hear until May whether she got off the waitlist. A wonderful surprise today!
OOS, Psychology major, GPA 4.1(w) / 3.8 (uw), 7 APs + 2 Honors. A few extracurriculars she’s been involved in consistently for many years, plus she’s been working steadily after school and during summers for the same employer for almost 3 years.
Ooo this is good news for a fellow waitlistee
My son was waitlisted CS in EA, and was accepted this evening for Computer Engineering. The letter stated that he would not be able to transfer to CS.
Of course. GPA of 4.7 (w) / 3.9 (uw); 7 APs, 4 dual-enrollment college classes, 16 honors classes; strong extracurriculars (including: worked as a consultant for multidisciplinary team at a private university that developed a health-related app, developed/published his own iOS apps that received certification by an educational-software website, and elected officer of NHS and selected to serve as Director of NHS tutoring at his high school). The amount of his Chancellor Award was $16,000.
Thanks for sharing! I thought waitlist from EA was for May 1st… sounds more like a deferral. Congrats to your son!
UMass doesnt do deferrals, was definitely a waitlist
I understand the difference. Just saying I thought with most schools waitlists NOT announced until AFTER RD.
Oh sorry, yeah me too, I hope mine comes soon
Thanks for sharing! Those are great stats, kudos to your son!!
DD was waitlisted and received acceptance yesterday. Definitely it was unexpected. OOS, CS.
Congrats! Isenberg students can choose any major within Isenberg.
I definitely recommend exploring all the wonderful career options that are available.
All schools use Handshake (http://umass.joinhandshake.com/ for UMass).
Very few schools (mostly top MBA and law schools) offer access to Firsthand/Vault (https://umass.firsthand.co/ for UMass).
Does UMass have ranked waitlists and what’s the chance I make it off the waitlist
Their FAQ says no. I’m gonna say our chances are not terrible compared to other schools, several have already gotten in off of waitlist
Junior Transfer, 3.9 Community College GPA, accepted at 5 am PT/ 8 am ET for Anthropology today 3/8 to the class of 26!!!
Congrats and great to hear as D24 was also waitlisted from EA and we weren’t expecting any word until well after May 1.
