University of Massachusetts at Lowell?

So my GPA currently stands at a about a 2.6-2.7, but once I am done with my summer courses it will be at a 2.8-2.9 (above a 3.0 if you don’t count Dual Credit from High School)

So on the UML website, it says a minimum GPA of a 2.5 is required for transfer admission to Manning Business. Does that mean when you have that, you are accepted, or is it just the bare minimum?

If it is the “bare minimum”, should I be fine? I also have a bunch of business related EC’s from this past year. My GPA is also low due to family health issues with my father, who is a veteran.

My desired Major is Marketing, and I am currently living in Texas. I will get in-state tuition at Lowell b/c of the Yellow Ribbon and GI Bill.

bump

Its bare minimum unfortunately. Hopefully your Yellow Ribbon/GI Bill status may help with your admission but take a look at the data set and see what the averages are for admittance before you get your hopes up.

@NEPatsGirl What would you say could be a safe GPA to have for Lowell Business?

Not sure about college transfers, but only 12% of admits from high school are admitted with GPAs less than 3.0, with the average being 3.5. My guess would be 3.0 at the least but give them a call and state your case, you’ll get more information straight from the source. Good luck.
