Does anyone have an email address from someone at UMiami that I can contact regarding financial aid? Nothing shows up on canelink. I got accepted EA but still didn’t get any answer to my multiple emails and requests.
^ They are not always great with answering emails. You need to phone them and they will speak to you although you may have to be on hold for some time.
Hey Miami Class of 2022, I was wondering if it was possible for me to get a good amount of need-based Aid from the UofM.
Something around 60-70% would be really nice. Would it be possible? Or would it be a far off dream?

I got accepted but I still haven’t received a package from the school. Is that a problem?
@ballin248 The package could have easily gotten lost in the mail. I don’t think it’s a problem. Call admissions and let them know. I’m sure they’ll send another one.

Yes, got in about 10 days ago and received packet in mail soon after; EDIi
University of Miami doesn’t give out the types of scholarships that its peer schools do. One can get a half-ride to Tulane, TCU and SMU, and not get a dime from UMiami. I’m sure they lose a lot of top students who go to the other three schools aforementioned. These four schools are pretty similar in student body, size, prestige, and regional networks. All are urban schools set in beautiful neighborhoods. All four cities revolve around the university it is home to. (Miami and Dallas might have more going on than Fort Worth and New Orleans but none of these cities are New York or Los Angeles.) We love Miami but have to consider the return on investment.
Merit is subjective and changes year to year. My S18 received nice merit from Miami and still may receive more. He received less from SMU.
@Living61 my D received significant merit money from Miami and nothing from Tulane, so I think it is hard to make such broad statements. Every case is individual. Each school considers different things when making their merit money decisions.

any chance waitlists hear before May 1 – letter said by June 23 which is useless.
