University of Miami class of 2022

if merit hasn’t been posted yet does that mean we are never getting any?

…and congrats to all who were accepted, and best of luck to those wait listed and still waiting to hear!

If I am reading the CDS correctly, 621 out of 2042 students in the freshman 2017 class received NON need based aid or grants, not including athletic scholarships. Even with great stats, my D is in this unlucky majority. Wish we had shown demonstrated interest. Our fall visit was shelved b/c of Hurricane Irma. Might have made the difference… :((

Is there anyone that has gotten rejected so far? Don’t know why I haven’t got my decision yet when it seems like everyone and their grandmother has gotten accepted already.

Accepted Spring 2019

SAT:1090 (Superscored) 4.612 GPA (Weighted), 10 APs.

@Msclvr721 where did you see those stats from?

Accepted EA to the business school! No merit aid even with a 34 ACT, strong grades, and lots of ECs. Hoping it comes in tomorrow!

@classof18student The published U Miami common data set for 2017/18

Does anyone know if the Coral Grant is a scholarship? Just wondering if merit is still pending

Im assuming all Frost applicants yet to audition are deferred ?

@Msclvr721 Are you sure that’s not for the Miami students who will be freshmen from fall 2017-spring 2018 aka class of 2021?

Accepted OOS- 33 ACT, 98.9 gpa, rank 4/500, Presidential 23k/year

Accepted OOS-27 ACT, 4.1 WGPA, mostly A’s, 10k a year. If your test scores aren’t the best, it isn’t the end of the world guys the essay can sometimes make or break.

Good amount of APs, good extracurricular, only one volunteer activity but time consuming

If anyone is interested here is Tulane’s reasoning for the spring admissions - they’re the only college I’ve seen that has been open about it. Could be similar to UM’s reasoning.

Does anyone know if you are still eligible for the Hammond Scholarship (full tuition) if already have a financial aid letter Presidents Award of $20k?

@camcam2022 You will be notified if you are a Hammond candidate. Typically, if you are a candidate yet don’t get it, your Pres scholarship will max out as a consolation prize.

Coral Grant is small Financial Aid grant
