Are Miami RD notifications sent via email and snail mail?

@acedang11 i applied EA and got deferred but everyone who got admitted said their financial reward was in their letter of admission. if you donât have any aid listed in your letter i donât think you received any from them.
i got deferred ea too, do you think that we have the same chance as rd kids or not because they can see we were deferred?
Did they only accept or defer EA kids? Or did they flat out reject people too? I got deferred EA and just want to know if the deferred kids have a good shot at getting in RD
No they rejected and waitlisted, as well

Does Deferral from EA pretty much mean rejection? I have good grades, a 35 ACT and a 1560 SAT. I was surprised I was deferred, but I was told that I might be âover-qualifiedâ with UM thinking I wouldnât attend. Thatâs not the case, but I am curious if they just Deferred me with the intention of denying me later.
@lesimpson4 donât know for sure but i got deferred at SMU for EA and got in for RD. i think we have the same chances. I emailed my admissions counselor two days ago explaining my continued interest and she said sheâll add it to my application and that decisions will be released by April 1.
@SlimJim005 Did you send a LOCI? That would definitely help you in your case if you think your issue was not showing enough interest
So I was pretty active when ea came out and i got deferred so I told my counselor I was still interested and all that and then sent a updated letter of interest and new info by mail and I emailed my counselor to double check that she recieved it and she never responded to that o my previous email kinda confused
@Freakingout23 thatâs odd. my counselor (nichole antilla) responded literally after a day or two. try emailing your counselor again i guess. who is your counselor? check to make sure youâre emailing the right person.
Yes. My D was admitted last year. If you look at that thread portals started updating from the morning throughout the day all day long on Thursday (which would be tomorrow) showing admitted. Mysterious green circles showed up followed by additional boxes populated on the main page and a green check mark with âAdmittedâ next to it. The actual admission email and merit money didnât show up until the next day. I think it was at least a week before the snail mail arrived with admission info. Good luck everyone!
@Freakingout23 My daughter was deferred EA as well. Can I ask who your counselor is? My daughter has contacted her counselor several times by email and by phone and has only received âformâ responses. However, when she visited and sent an email thank you to the counselor that did the information session, that counselor responded the very next day with a lovely email. My daughter also has a friend from our town that was deferred ED and also never got any personal response from their assigned counselor. Seems odd to me that some counselors follow up and others do not, and itâs beyond frustrating when youâre contacting them to confirm that they received pertinent required data for their applications.
We were deferred in EA also. Our counselor responded to the-mail sent expressing continued interest, etc.
I was deferred and emailed my counselor expressing extreme interest in attending UMiami. She replied. From NJ.
My daughter only received an automated response from her LOCI.
