Does anyone know when early action releases?
@Nic00 my son got the email telling him to submit an essay as a finalist for a premier scholarship. They said he would hear by the end of January and if he got it he would be invited to scholarship weekend. It sounds like they may be doing things different than last yearâŠ
@leonmomma Thank you! It does sound different than last year and earlier. Are they only having one scholarship weekend? I wonder if they will send out any more? Seems much more quiet on the forum this year compared to last year.
This forum seems rather slow for UM, I would think if they changed the process for the scholarship weekend more people would be posting that they were asked to submit an essay. In the past when UM sent out their select invitations to the individuals that were invited to the scholarship weekend, students confirmed by submitting their essays. You actually confirmed your weekend by submitting your essay. It canât hurt to call UM and just ask.
I guess we will see. He is excited either way.
Patiently waiting EA decision for Nursing School ⊠so stressful
So basically if we havenât received anything we can kiss scholarships goodbye?
Every year the scholarship invites come out around or on January 17, usually 6 days before EA decisions come out. Thatâs when you would submit an essay, not sure if they changed things because a few people were emailed a week or so ago to submit an essay. Good luck!
Late January - Early February
I called and they told me that all invitations have been sent out:( I was really hoping! Also the girl said early February for ea decisions
My friend called as well, they said if you didnât get an email late December for the essay you arenât in the running for scholarship weekend. They begin phase one elimination thru the essay and will start to send invitations out. Good luck to all who received the email.
I applied EA for marine biology back in September.
SAT and ACT arenât good at all being an 1180 and 25. Unweighted gpa is 97.9875 (my school doesnât use a 4.0 scale so idk what it is in that way) and my ranking is 64 out of 595. By the time I graduate I will have taken 6 APs (Stat, US Gov, Lang/Comp, Spanish Lang, Macro, and Human Geography). The rest of my classes have been an even mix of honors and academic. EC- secretary of Spanish club, member of interact club (a volunteering club), cultural awareness club. AP Scholar Award as well

@kit4kat one question besides the scholarship weekend does Miami give other scholarships such as merit based scholarships?
Yes, they give merit scholarships, The Presidential scholarship goes up to $28,000 or $30,000 at the most. Also depending on your EFC you might qualify for some grants. Youâre still looking at a hefty price tag.

I live a few minutes away from campus, so I went to talk to my friend that works in admissions, and he said the amount of applications this year is overwhelming.

He said around the end of this month, âmost likely in the 20âs.â Sorry I couldnât give an exact date guys
