I have letter of reca from my Venezuelan Scholl principal and my ESL teacher here in the US whick know me very well.

@leonmomma my daughter received this message also. She wasn’t planning to “work” over her winter break, but she is excited and grateful for the opportunity to be considered. And they will know by the end of January so they won’t have an excruciating wait. Good luck to your son!

@gatorPharmD Congratulations to your daughter! Did it have an invitation to the scholarship weekend as well? If so what are the dates? What are her stats if you don’t mind?

Congrats @GatorPharmD

I hope 2019 brings great joy to everyone, especially to the ones who have worked hard to get to the point where they are at now! Good luck to everyone!

Thank you! The message mentions March 1-2 and says scholarship recipients will be invited. Stats include:

SAT 1510
4.0 UW GPA
National Merit Semifinalist
10 AP courses, 60 DE credits
Varsity athlete, works part-time job, lots of EC/leadership/service hours

Congrats to your daughter too! At least the essay is short. Hoping it ends in an invite to scholars weekend!

If you are EA and didn’t receive an email for an additional essay does that mean you aren’t in the running for scholars weekend??

It says on the website that to receive singer you have to submit an essay so could that be it?

"Selected candidates for the Singer Scholarship are prompted to submit an essay for consideration as finalists. "

I have a question? Who all is applying Engineering?

@freakingout23 there was no mention of the name of the scholarship, but not all require an essay, so I would think you are still in the running.

Can that be like now!!!

Thank you @GatorPharmD does anyone know when the invitations are released?

When???

My daughter was recently asked to upload a copy of her social security card to the portal. Does that mean anything?

I applied EA and on December 24th I received the following message:

“Your Common Application for admission to the University of Miami was submitted without your Social Security Number. In order to update your University of Miami record, please use this secure form to upload a scanned image of your signed Social Security Card. Your Social Security Number is used to determine your eligibility for and the processing of federal and state financial aid.”

I am an international student and I have no SSN number.

In addition to this, if I check “view financial aid” this appears:

Aid Year Institution Aid Year Description
2020 University of Miami Inquiry access denied.

Does any of you know what this means?

I would call today!! Before getting my acceptance it would say inquiry access denied too on my financial aid tab.
