Mine is requesting financial aid information as well. Do you have a due date on yours? Mine said it was due on the 9th but I could’ve sworn I sent them already… i really need financial aid hopefully this isn’t an issue should I be admitted. Yikes. @davidlt1
@bleedorangebaby Yes. 1-9-19. Like you, I swear I’ve already submitted that information.
I am on the phone with financial aid now, I’ll let you know what they say
My new request for documentation were actual tax documents, which the information was fed directly from the IRS into the FAFSA, but not into the CSS profile. I am not sure why they have the need to append CSS with information available to them directly in the FAFSA, feels like I should be one folder.
@davidlt1 They told me they received my noncustodial parent form, but not their W-2s so they asked me to resubmit them
IMO if they are asking for financial things like you have listed that could be a good sign.
I hope so:/ umiami is one of my tops
Sorry it took so long, I was driving home and the traffic was insane.
So regarding the To-Do list: they have everyone’s papers, they’re just now getting processed. So don’t worry about turning them in again
Decision Date: All I was told was that decisions are going to be released either January 25 or later. They have such a big pool of applicants this year that it might take a little longer than expected.
Do they send an email letting us know or are we just suppose to check the portal?
Thank you @rafagirl2001
I called…I was told EA by the second week in Feb
@BigHerms Why do you think that’s a good sign? Just curious. I’m the same as the people above with W-2s, Tax returns and Fafsa that Miami is asking for. Hoping you’re right!
@Snappy00 why bother asking for the missing information if the applicant will be denied? But my opinion and I have been wrong more than a few times. Anyways, good luck to everyone!
@Mel711jon The second week in February seems really late for an EA notification.
I agree. You really start to think, ‘what was the point of applying early’? S19 already has 5+ acceptances and is growing attached to at least 2. If he is lucky enough to get accepted by U Miami, he may already have his heart set on another.
By the way, Virginia Tech notifies EA applicants on Feb 22! Not very early at all.
I phoned them 2 minutes ago and they said late Jan
FWIW, my D applied EA to 8 schools, and has only received decisions from 3, 2 of which were deferrals. Of course, we’re anxious to hear too, but for us UM is not unusually late.
@multicultural01 I hope you told them that students and their families consider Jan. 16th to be “late January”!
haha I should have!! But really, I hope they come out next week. I think most people’s definition of “late January” starts from the 20th-ish. Then again, Monday is MLK day which means no admissions officers will be working and probably end up delaying the decisions release until the FOLLOWING week:( ughhh
Does anyone know from previous years how long after the admissions decision that prospective students received their financial aid packages/and or scholarships?
