University of Miami Class of 2023

hey my thing went up like $11,000 more than the original should i be worried ??

@fanofthemcu

Your thing will be fine.

Curious why they would even fool around with FAFSA / CSS if they weren’t considering you? Thoughts? I called today to find out how to send corrections and they told me decisions would come out early February for EA.

can someone please help!!! under “accept/decline financial awards” mine says “award access not avaiable”

@multicultural01 I believe they all say that

ah thank goodness i was so worried

Umiami corrected my FAFSA but my EFC went down! not complaining over here (:

How do you know if your fafsa was corrected?

@gsbc12 we received emails from fafsa

When do we think they will be releasing decisions?

The cane server is down right now. That’s what happened when Michigan released decisions. Is it down for anyone else??

@toottootfoot its still up

@toottootfoot mine is still up also

An admissions person emailed this to me today: "Since you applied EA, your decision should be coming out pretty soon. As of right now, EA applicants are supposed to get their decisions in early February, so really any time after this week keep your eye out for an email and some mail from The U. " Sounds like they won’t be coming out this Friday, I can’t wait any longer!

I submitted Fafsa & CSS. CSS has gone away on To-Do list but Fafsa, W2’s, and tax returns haven’t but they have been all submitted. happen to anyone else?

Happened to me too. I had to call them about it.

@snappy00 My kid’s still has “Student W-2” in his To Do section. I called and they said they have it, but they haven’t updated the system, and it could take a few weeks.

You should call and check.

@Snappy00 Call the financial aid office, mine has not left my to do list, but have confirmation on the phone they have everything. the wait time was not too long.

I believe the reason EA decisions are taking so long is that the U does not require any additional writing requirement so it was a free option (other than the app fee) for kids to submit an application even if they have no real shot at getting in or no real intention of attending due to cost or other preference. I know of at least a dozen kids where that is the case. Eventually the U will require a supplemental essay to weed these kids out.

I called Financial Aid today to see if my Ex had submitted the correct documents. They said decisions will be out early February for EA. We were hoping for this week. They also assured me (because my ex submitted them late) that my daughter’s Admission decision would not be held up because of this. They said that they “like” to offer the whole financial package at time of acceptance but they will at least be able to tell her if she will be receiving anything from the school. Does anyone know if they notify you online or by an envelope sent to the house? Quinnipiac University sent a whole packet. Fordham University sent via email.
