University of Miami Class of 2023

@student1151 I agree with you, but also when people were calling two days ago, early February seemed like the majority opinion. Don’t get me wrong. I am dying to hear back as Miami is my first choice, even though I am from Seattle lol. I just think nobody knows when and it is anxiety-inducing

@kit4kat I’m not comfortable disclosing it, but it is 6 figures. Even though I was able to express a lot in my CSS profile it hasn’t done anything at any schools I’ve gotten into so far

@mypricelineemail Thanks for the honesty. Appreciate the input. It was well stated and very true. Good luck!

Several years ago I attended a presentation given by the head of Miami’s FA office (not sure if he is still there…). He basically said" We know how to read tax forms. Don’t waste our time asking for a reconsideration. If you don’t like the aid we offer you, particularly a merit award, the person next in line behind you will".

@jym626 harsh reality! Haha, I totally understand that but I think we all wish financial aid was a bit more forgiving

@noah2425 as someone said in another thread just a few moments ago, there is no FA fairy.

Gotta say, I’ve never seen so many people so triggered by a green dot… But for real I’m hoping its released today. Good luck y’all.

I think the green dot just means ur application is complete…right?

yes

I really wish the oua would be better at communicating this stuff… causing soo much stress like wha

who’s betting on today being the day!

just a heads up, the whole cds stuff is just a guess at early action. cds had umd decisions being released the 31st when they were really released the 25th…

Okay so I had to write an essay for a “Premier Scholarship” at UM and they said they would inform me of my scholarship decision “by the end of January.” I am assuming this means that decisions will definitely be released today.

What do you mean?

Almost all schools give you the ability to appeal for additional funds. I appealed for my son and got an extra 9k per year at his school. And decisions will be out no later than tomorrow according to someone reliable who works in administration. So everyone will know by the weekend.

@dunnowheretogo Yes, they notify you when you are admitted. But if you weren’t notified in December about Premier does that mean the highest you can get is the Presidential?

@becca6601 i mean that whoever published the cds was guessing

@student1151 I was notified in December that I was a finalist and that they would release official decisions “by the end of January”

Someone in admissions said the green dot means your financial aid is done along with the admissions side of the application. Some documents have been requested from prospective student even after due date and they still are working on that. Those without green dots just means they’re still working on merits/need-based aid. Hope this helps.
