University of Miami Coral Gables, FL

Does this school give aid to independent transfer students? If so, what is the process?
Ive been clicking around their site trying to help someone. Please provide any info. Thank you.

Yes, thank you. I saw this page on their site. Trying to figure out if the transfer student 4.0 GPA ,3rd year undergrad, is not a dependent, how could they qualify for need based aid on their own?

If they qualify for need aid, Miami aims to meet 100% but they are need aware.

“The University of Miami is dedicated to maximizing our need-based financial aid awarding for federal aid-eligible transfer students, with the goal of meeting 100% of their demonstrated need.”

Perhaps call the financial aid office and speak to a representative in order to get specifics to your situation.

You probably need to ask directly how a transfer student who is FAFSA-independent is considered for financial aid. Note that University of Miami does use the CSS Profile (including Noncustodial Profile) for most students outside of its specific non-traditional programs, so its determination of financial aid dependency may differ from that of FAFSA.
