Hello! Has anyone received portal access?
I’m assuming you have by now, but how long did it take? My child’s app shows it was downloaded last week, but still no portal access.
It took 3 full days for my D to get portal login information

I applied ED1 to UM for Finance. Chance me please!!!
demographics: white male, NJ, 150k annual income
Stats: 1300 SAT, 3.996/4 Weighted GPA
ECS: Varsity track, Paid Work, FBLA, speech and debate, interact club, church volunteer, Italian tutor
essays: my main one talks about my experience being in movies and how that led me to find my voice and my supplemental talks about my efforts to help the breast cancer community
I am applying for financial aid
Has anyone heard about a release date/time? If history repeats, it should be today at 5, but in the past UM has sent notification a day before the drop. No notification received AFAIK

My daughter received an email last night saying that they will release EA decisions on Monday at 6pm.
EA? What about ED? Still this friday?
I think they meant ED. It is my understanding that EA is in January – maybe around January 23?

You Might be referring to Miami U (Ohio)? Their EA comes out Monday.
Soooooo….do we know if they are coming out tonight? I know they typically come out around 4:30pm. They usually send something a day before telling students about decisions being released? I had never heard that.

Do you guys have the ability to change the major in the portal?

It would be interesting to know if any of the EA can still change the major in the portal. It used to be a tell but they said they fixed that glitch back in 2023. But we should not be able to change the major since the last deadline.

Hi everyone. I am an Early Action international applicant applying for Environmental Engineering with a focus on coastal restoration, which I believe fits very well with UMiami. I have an EFC of 15000 dollars (atleast that is what i mentioned on my CSS, but I think they evaluate themselves) and will be relying heavily on scholarships and financial aid, so I would really appreciate any advice along with a chance me.
Academics
• O Levels: 8A* 1A
• A Levels: 5A* 1A predicted
• 4/4 UW GPA
• 1570 SAT single sitting
Awards
• Valedictorian
• Gold Medal - National Chemistry Competition (and mentored students for next year’s comp, was the head juror as well - mentioned in add info)
• Gold Medal - (Intl Olympiad related to my major)
• Bronze medal in an international science fair (Environmental Field) after first place in the national round
• Prestigious community service award recipient, Only student from my country in the last two years to receive this award (top 0.3%)
Activities (All 10 are good and fully fits with my intended major)
• Led my country in a national STEM competition
• National swimmer with national gold medals
• Published research paper with a professor in my field - invited to international conference in Canada

• Founder of a STEM organization for underprivileged children
