University of Miami Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

Log into portal. Email just came out about 20 minutes later.

Son was admitted to Herbert Business School, what a relief after the Michigan Postpone decision.
And, a small scholarship $12k.
He’s so happy!!!
Congratulations to all who were accepted, and deferral isn’t the end!

DD denied! Didn’t expect that at ALL! Good GPA, started Charity, sports etc. Lots of engagement toured twice :woman_facepalming:t2: crushed.

And switch to ED 2!

It’s so hard. I just keep telling my kid to focus and love the colleges that love him back.

Yes, I already moved myself to regular decision and sent a email to my admission counselor for advice on what my next step should be. Still hopeful ig

For those in Florida, is U Miami or FSU considered harder to get into?

UM typically. UF is the toughest to get into in Florida. UM probably second.

How much harder is UF would you say?

We got the postponement from Michigan also, so this was very nice!

FSU. The U has a lower acceptance rate because it’s a lot smaller. The FSU acceptance stats for in state earlier were crazy high. And yes, UF is the best and hardest to get into.

They are not test optional and most applicants have very high test scores and high GPA averages. It may be equal in terms of acceptance rate with UM, not sure. They have three times as many students though. I just know anecdotally that a lot of kids that apply there get deferred or rejected, even though they offer a lot of pathways (including first two years onine program and a program that is spring and summer terms only for certin majors). I dont think UM has many or any pathways
