Deferred. 4.0/4.8 all 5’s on 7 hardest AP’s plus 4 more this year and a 36 ACT. She got in EA at USC so all is good if they offer merit. No demonstrated interest in Miami so I guess they weigh that heavily. I thought she’d have a chance at significant merit aid and now that it won’t happen, we are pulling her application.
Accepted with 25k! Undeclared arts & sciences, 1500 sat, 4.422 weighted (3.99 uw), 5s on all 5 APs taken so far (doing 5 this year)
Our twins were both accepted. OOS. We did visit. Both received presidential scholarships which we were not expecting.
If you guys could help us with data, it would be appreciated.
Deferred. OOS 4.1W, w demonstrated interest. Not too upset, was expecting a rejection
Accepted, presidential scholarship, honors program, criminology, 4.4W, 32 ACT, 10 APs, high level arts recognition ECs and sports
Did Miami reject anyone from early action or was it only accepted and deferred?
Daughter was deferred. 4.4 GPA, 12 APs. Didn’t submit test scores.
There are rejections noted on various forums.
Deferred. Offered ED2.
3.8 UW, 4.2W, 7 AP’s (most offered at his school), has owned his own profitable business for 5 years, 4 year varsity athlete, leadership roles, solid essays, good EC’s, strong LOR. Test optional.
Twin 1: 3.91 UW; 4.21 W Econ Major TO; Twin 2: 4.0; 4.3W History Major TO; Both 12 AP/Honors classes in area of major. Both part time jobs; competitive club athletes; 100+ volunteer hours and leadership at school; OOS private school; visited and attended virtual session. Strong authentic essays, but nothing out of the ordinary. School does not rank, but in top of class.
D25 Accepted, 34ACT, 3.95/4.5, 12APs, public high school. Club and varsity sport as the main EC. Good essays. 25K merit award.
I wonder how much requests for aid played a part, if any.
Deferred 4.4 GPA 34 ACT 11 APs applied to Frost SOM it seems like a lot of musicians are deferred.
From what I’m reading here and on the reddit forum, I think quite a bit
Have the Premier Scholarships already been awarded?
Son got accepted. Music performance. How did some of you hear about merit already?
Wait a sec, my daughter was offered ED2!
It was a link in the acceptance letter.
So, guaranteed acceptance if you show commitment by applying ED2. Interesting. Obviously there wouldn’t be any merit but it’s not like 25K/yr is enough to sway many decisions.
