Does anyone have any insight on the ED acceptance rate from last year’s class (class of 2024)? It doesn’t look like the Common Data Set has been published yet.
The 2023/24 CDs shows 986 of 1645 admissions. Take out athletes, I don’t know the rate. But likely a significant hook - especially if full pay (they are need aware and just over 1/3 of students get need aid. Of course they have merit too). They do track interest and nothing shows interest like ED.
Good luck
Yes I saw the 23-24 CDS, but looks like that is for Fall 2023 admits, so was curious if anyone knew anything about the ED acceptance rates for this recent class (2024)?
I’m not sure when the CDSs typically get updated.
This is the recent class. They applied in 23 for start in ‘24. Those applying in 2024 for start is 2025 - that hasn’t happened yet.
They have such a large athletic situation I’m not sure you can glean much from the ED data but I’d assume if full pay and close academically, they’d take a student.
I believe you’re referring to data from last year’s incoming class (freshman that started in the fall of 2023). This is stated on their 2023-24 CDS. Their new CDS has not been released yet. They have shared their class of 2024 profile on their admissions site, but unfortunately doesn’t have any of their ED data that is included in the CDS.
That’s correct - because the 2024 class hasn’t yet started - and there can still be breakage. You will have long applied before you see the 2024 stats on CDS.
Offering both ED and EA is interesting, do you think they consider having applied EA as a form of demonstrated interest? My daughter is going to apply but we won’t have the time to visit before the EA application deadline.
Yes, it probably does help to do EA. Have you done virtual information sessions? That’s another way to show interest. I did 2 of them last year, along with applying EA and was admitted. Never been to campus.
Thank you, we will schedule a virtual session. I saw some of your posts in the UF forum earlier in the year…curious which school you ended up going to.
Yep, I am here right now looking out my dorm room window. I love it!
Congrats! Which other schools were your top choices? Asking because my daughter has similar credentials and is applying to some of the same schools you applied to. Thx
If I didn’t end up here, I think I would be at FSU since I got the tuition waiver. Still, UF isn’t too bad out of state in that regard. After that, it probably would have been UGA, Texas A&M, or perhaps University of Washington (my instate flagship). I like U Miami, but 93k would be too expensive and I didn’t get the super high scholarships.
Yep, she will be applying to those schools, with the exception of UWashington. Did you consider Wake Forest by any chance?
No, it was never really on my radar.
We visited Preview the U in person on Sunday, September 22nd, and also did the virtual Preview the U yesterday, September 25th. So I think demonstrated interest can be checked off for our daughter. We’re debating on whether to submit SAT scores or not. She’s BARELY below the mid 50% (which starts at 1360). Her SAT is a 1340. So we cannot decide if it would be beneficial to submit them or if she should just leave them off. She has over a 4.0 weighted GPA and takes Honors, AP, and Dual-Enrollment courses… as well as having a whole storm of extracurricular activities including having worked a job since she was 14 years old (15 hours/week). What do you think, seeing as you have been through the process?! Thanks!
Yeah, you’re definently good on demonstrated interest. What is the SAT average at her school? I think that should guide the decision since she’s so close. AO’s will be impressed if the 1340 is well above the average at her high school and she should send.
Her school average is 1183.
District average is 1158.
State average is 1174.
US average is 1157.
84th percentile for state (84% scored the same or below her).
90th percentile for the US (90% scored the same or below her).
Has anyone heard what day decisions will come out for ED?
