Hello I need some input so I can be ready for my decision from University of Miami Florida tomorrow, hopefully. I’m from Ohio, applied EA Fall Term School for Architecture, and chose financial aid not knowing it could have an affect on their decision if you can’t pay full. I have a 3.8 UW, 4.1 W, 2 AP 3 CCP, 9 Honors, 27 creds, 7 clubs, 3 which I am leaders in, 3 Varsity Sports, 3 Volunteering and outside involvements, Did not take SAT, did not submit ACT and instead submitted strong Art Portfolio for architecture major. I’m not sure where this leaves me in the running. I am very hopeful but know it’s competive.
Also wrote 2 essays which are both to be said exceptional.
Why do you need help with your chances? It’s one day away.
While it’s a need aware school, applying for aid (which many schools recommend) will not impact your decision because you’re a full pay student. So that’s not a worry you need to have. And when they are not accepting kids, it’s not for a little need but rather a lot. Miami gives many merit so if you do get in it’s possible you get money.
The art portfolio is likely a big impact. The test optional may hurt too - no way to know but 57% of admitted submitted last year. Take out athletes - it’s likely higher.
None of this matters. The wait is nearly over. Best of luck.
I appreciate the input. I don’t know why I am so stressed, I guess it is a top 1 or 2 school for me, so it’s kinda a big deal. I guess I kinda wanna know whether I need to worry or not of getting in, if you think I have a decent chance I might not be so worked up tomorrow, Ik it sounds stupid.
No one knows except the Miami admission people.
Where else is on your list? As long as you have an opportunity somewhere, you’ll do great.
But you have zero concern about applying for aid.
Nothing I say would be of help to you - in part because it may be about more than grades - your art may play a part.
If you’ve been the best you that you can be, then you’ll land in a great place - Miami or otherwise.
Best of luck.
Appreciate that. My other chose is Ohio state, which I got into, so I have a safe option if umiami doesn’t work out. But I’m gonna hope for the best
Great school!! Better football team.
Should have applied to my alma mater - the Cuse Ohio State better than them too.
Sounds like you’ve gotten one and maybe a 2nd great opportunity.
Either way, you’ll have the ability to be an architect. And less distractions in Columbus!!
Best of luck.
Less distractions, you’re probably right about that! Thanks for your input
