University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2024

From my kid’s school so far-in state- 2 acceptances to Ross, 1 rejection and a few without emails including mine. They are texting each other that’s how we know.

Did they hear back exactly at 5 P.M. ?

It was at 5 they said for the acceptance and rejection

Is it a disadvantage to have to wait for March or April in terms of getting accepted

Keep in mind. This site is a very small microcosm of the real world.

Anyone know?

I don’t think so. Check this link for info:

usually for EA accepted applicants, the second batch is the best hope, Third batch is for RD applicants. This year EA ~7550 applicants to apply for Ross, 12% increase compared to class 2027. class 2027 total Ross applicants -9400, 818 applicants admitted --final enrollment ~520. Per Ross, the target admitted students 500 each year… that means class 2028, total admitted students will be <818 for sure.

If I don’t get into Ross, will Econ still be a good option if I want to do IB/PE in the future?

certainly, you can do business minor…

How competitive is it to get a minor in business?

Although my son is not at Michigan, he’s at another very good school as an Econ major (he decided later he might want to do business) with a business minor and he had a very good and competitive PE internship last summer.

Very…Business Minor Admissions | Michigan Ross

Many other avenues to explore at Michigan for busijess if you don’t get into Ross. Many many non Ross students go into business at the same companies. This is where your degree actually mesns something

The 9,400 applicants for the Class of 2027, is the amount of people who got admitted to LSA and did Ross preferred?

Or is that the number of people who applied to Ross, but Did NOT necessarily get admitted to LSA?

Because it would mean the chances are higher than a 12% acceptance rate if you got into LSA already right?

Son accepted into ROSS

Assuming 9,400 applicants applied to Ross, that number is from the total # of apps to the entire university (90,000 +/-). Though not necessarily all of them applied to LSA as the home school.

We get this question every year.

The entire university only accepts roughly 15,000 +/- freshman students. Total.

So lots of questions about fafsa and when money is coming. I have no idea what Michigan is going to do but if I needed it I would want the extra time to file and to make my decisions past May 1st. I am seeing this now at some UC and now at our main rival… Lol. I would call Financial aid and request it. Maybe if enough people ask??

I’m pretty sure this was generic. I reached out to FA this week and got a quick response. If CSS is complete, they will be able to put together an estimated FA offer by end of this month. They are aware FAFSA is delayed and all you can do it submit and then leave it up to the powers that be. Check in your portal that they have received your CSS and you are good. But if you have questions just email. The officer was really nice and I heard back in less than 24 hours.

I replied to someone else on this thread but I did email FA this week and they responded quickly! They can create an estimated package based on info in the CSS form but nothing will be final until FAFSA is processed. They hope to release estimated FA offers by the end of this month. I’d just reach out with questions. They were so nice.

I heard the same also but thanks for clarifying. Administrators at Michigan want to help. But the rhetorical question is if the government has a delay can it affect making a decision for some families. I don’t know since all schools are part of this
