Every school is a little different. I saved this wording from their site so my D25 wouldn’t forget to self-report: “Early Action candidates who respond “Yes” to this question on the application must self-report test scores on their application or through Enrollment Connect by Nov. 15. Those students who do not submit a test score by this date will be moved into the test-optional pool of candidates and reviewed without an ACT/SAT score during Early Action, if all other required materials have been received to complete their application for Early Action consideration.” UMich superscores. You self-report on their portal.
Someone posted that you can change from TO to including test scores or vice versa for RD if you are postponed.
Did he check the box ‘yes’ that asked if he wanted to apply with test scores on the app? If not that could explain why his portal doesn’t have the scores. Have him reach out to admissions…either a call to the main number or his AO.
Did he only just apply, RD? Maybe it takes time for the scores to get processed.
I’m curious if anyone else had difficulty with the scores getting picked up from Common App, since the website clearly states you can self-report in the application.
For those who self reported SAT scores, do you you the actual scores on the portal? I only see the SAT exam date, but not the scores.
Not sure if I should report again.
@Idontgetthis If the date is there, then I think it’s a fair to assume they have the scores.
Portals are all different. Some just show a checkmark, some might show a test date, some might show no date but show the (super) scores. Caveat, I have not seen the Michigan portal.
@Medea1 If there is no sign in the portal that they have the scores, there’s nothing wrong with also going ahead and self-reporting the scores in the portal, since the portal must have an option to do so. If the app was just submitted in the last few days, you could also just wait a few more days to see if their office process catches up.
So my kid just self reported in the portal and the score automatically showed up. I don’t know at this point if this is enough or if he should be contacting the admissions, but if I were you, I would also go ahead and self report in the portal.
I am seeing the one he just reported. It populated underneath the other ones that are still not showing (only dates).
Now the question is if we should email the admissions.
Thank you, I just reached out to admissions to confirm if they have my scores or if I need to self report again.
It’s not a good user experience for the Michigan portal to neither show a clear status not send any notifications if scores are missing. Very avoidable issue to be honest.
I know everyone is trying to be helpful but admission are very nice people to call or email. I like finding out facts for myself. Every situation might be different. We do try to be factual but I also encourage people to reach out themselves to make sure it all applies to them. FYI.
my son’s portal didn’t show the scores and he called back in October when he first submitted. the admissions office assured him that they have the scores on their end and to pay no mind to the fact that only the dates showed up in his portal.
