University of Michigan Ann Arbor Early Action Fall 2025

I was pleasantly stunned that one of the droids got 18 credits, a full semester’s worth, for only 3 APs. He’s thinking of doing a 4+1 in 4 or 4.5 years based on how things are going.

Anyway, good luck everyone!

When will we know about merit and/or financial aid decisions?

Thanks really something. Usually they are not great with Aps. UIUC is fantastic with Aps 3 and above.

We didn’t get any straight up merit or FA (though I’d guess those come more or less with acceptances). However, one of the droids applied for and received a LEAD scholarship. You can only apply after you’re accepted, but they give you the response prior to the commitment deadline.

Besides Michigan winning the debate championship over Northwestern.

Michigan just won the Men’s Big Ten basketball championship!!

Go Blue!

Hello! May I ask, how were you made aware of the LEAD scholarship? Is it invitation only or can anyone apply? If the latter, is there an online application? Thank you!

Any idea when the “postponed” folks will hear?

Postponed applicants would hear along with the rest of RD applicants. RD results are anticipated March 28, as I understand.

I really hope this is the date instead of early April as they mentioned it in the postponement letter.

Don’t worry. Presumably they always say early April for RD results. The past five years of RD release were 3/29/24, 3/31/23, 3/25/22, 3/26/21 and 3/27/20 (per old CC threads), always the last Friday of March.

TBH I can’t recall how or when we heard about LEAD. But, anyone can apply (I believe this was not always the case, but it is now!)

Anyone receive or have experience with the Shipman Scholarship?

Aaand I just got an email that the LEAD scholarship is now being discontinued “to comply with all applicable laws”. Great

didnt EA release a week early tho, is it posisble RD will release a week earlier

the portal typically shuts down a couple days before and stays shut down until admissions decisions are released, so if its not down now, then I’d count on it being next friday

F@$! Good thing this isn’t the political forum.

Fortunately it’s not make or break for us but still absolutely sucks losing on money that was nominally promised for all four years.

Sorry too for all the hopefuls out there.

Get ready for tuition increases, too!

No tuition guarantee here, correct?

No but I knew that going in.

I know right. Have a lot of things to say…but maybe best left unsaid
