Wait listed. In state. IB diploma candidate, 3.9uw, 4.32w. 6 IB 2 AP. Got 5 on APChem and APUSH. And a 6 and 7 on my finished IB courses. 1510 SAT, 33 ACT. Ton of EC and volunteer work. Employed. what is the breakdown? what percent gets accepted, waitlist and rejected?

and does anyone know how the waitlist works? is it just at random, is it how soon you click accept or do they choose who gets to be at the “top”?

S waitlisted LSA after deferred EA. Strong stats, good CommApp essay but difficult composing all thoughts for the very specific UMich prompt. Didn’t commit in LOCI so perhaps ok with the waitlist.

has been my dream school :frowning:

Does the waitlist ever release decisions earlier than June? Does anyone know when I can expect to hear back?

So far only 2 people have reported acceptance to the COE in this wave. I count 12 rejected and 16 wait-listed again just for COE. This seems very low and makes you wonder why string people along this long if you are going to have that low of an acceptance. Are they trying to keep their yield numbers up and maybe planning to take a few more off wait-list than they did last year?

@racereer. CC is only a microcosm of the real world. There were also many names that I never saw on this forum giving results last night and today. There are many lurkers also. There could of been thousands of results last night and today not just what you see here.

@Knowsstuff I understand that, but acceptances seem down from last year for this wave on CC. Also it has been discussed that while CC is a small sample it would most likely be skewed to the higher end (better students) than the general population numbers.

@racereer. This year is definitely a bit strange. More rejections last wave also. I personally think there were more initial acceptances to the school and why we are seeing more rejections this and last wave. Everyone will land somewhere great. That I am assured of.

Is this usually the “last” wave? I heard that there is likely a wave of decisions mid-April on a Friday (April 12?). Does anyone think that Ivy Day yesterday will cause people to pull/decline their applications to Michigan if they hear positive results from an Ivy? Or does that seem to not have much cross-overs in the applicant pool? My child is still waiting…

In-state EA rejected LSA after being deferred

Disappointed but lots of other great options.
For all those accepted, congrats and Go Blue!

COE - in state

Statistically people who were waitlisted at my school near my level were later accepted, not sure if they applied either COE or not. Hoping for the best.

Does your areas of interest for majors hold a major effect on being in the waitlist? I feel like by expressing interest in Computer Science I decreased my chances of getting in due to how competitive it is.
