I handed in my application on 31th october and all my stuff was ready on 9th november…i’m really late and thought at first that i’m not qualified for ea…

Does anyone else with the “positive” deferral letter still have no view decision link in their wolverine access?

@ersnyc mine hasn’t been updated either and I got the positive deferral letter

^ same here. Positive letter, WA not updated.

The way the positive letter is worded it sounds like it is our option whether or not we decide to send the admissions office out 7th semester grades, rather than others with the negative letter must send them in. That might be why WA is not updated.

Are there any threads or stats of how many deferred students actually get in?

What are the pros/cons of transferring my application to Kinesiology?

For one, my supplemental essay is about LS&A
would it look bad in the eyes of admission seeing as it is typically seen as “easier” to get into?

yea can someone answer michiganone’s question if they know… im kinda curious to know how many of the deferred applicants were eventually granted admission

I just found out I was deferred I got this letter: Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2014. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.
I have a 3.8 GPA and an 1880 on my SATs Im a Michigan resident but I’m currently in Lebanon I take all ap classes and I these are my EC:
MUN ( I won SG)
Speaking and debate award
National Science fair award
And student council
What are my chances? I’m actually really mad

I also got the positive letter and my WA is not updated. I keep checking, holding out a little bit of hope it will come up as ‘admitted!’

Same as Brifes

So… I got the admission email from the U of M couple nights ago and I got deferred… which is not what I hoped to hear ;(

I had 3.85 of GPA (unweighted) and 30 on ACT
In addition I’m an international student.

I am curious about the reason why I didn’t get accepted… Are my grades and test scores not good enough, or did my ethnicity contribute to the deferral?

Anyone can comment about that…?

@kevin. Your ACT isn’t incredible, and your GPA is good enough to get you in for sure. A lot of people with incredible stats were deferred, and it’s tough to not take it personally, but you probably just need to wait it out.

My 1st q grades are good, but I have 1 C+ in the hardest class I take (it’s the hardest class offered at my school). Other than that I have like high Bs and low As in all of my classes. Should I still send my grades in even though my deferral letter didn’t require it. I’m just tempted to do so so that I get my decision sooner rather than later.

@ersync I don’t think sending in your grades will make your decision come any faster. There’s at least a chance that deferred people get their decisions quickly, but I don’t think it’s tied to sending in grades at a certain time.

Can someone who received the “bad” letter- one that requires 1st semester grades to further analyze application, pls look at their WA credentials page and see if 7th semester grades are now part of the required materials? Thx

I submitted my app 10/9, I have a 31 act, 3.8 gpa, 4 ap’s, 4 year varsity softball, started an engineering club at my school, nhs, and tons of other ec but I still got deferred… it was the ‘good’ letter though.

I was deferred from engineering… Do you think it would be beneficial for me to apply to LSA for RD or would I look like I don’t know what I want? I’d rather attend LSA and I heard its easier to get in?

The way the deferral letter sounded, they may not want/need any more supplemental materials, but does anyone think that it would be beneficial to retake any of the standardized tests?

cutiedida: I don’t think you can apply to LSA once you applied to Engineering.
