University of Michigan - Deferral Thread

yeah people on twitter are starting to get accepted now…

I’m so anxious. Both of my friends were accepted yesterday and I haven’t received anything yet. I’m getting worried…

So is it beginning again? I’ve only seen a dozen on twitter.

Does anyone know if there coming out today or do we have to wait till next week?

More waiting.

Just got accepted yesterday for LSA!

32 ACT, 3.8 uw gpa (29 ACT in EA)

I was accepted for LSA yesterday after having been deferred in December. Out of state, 2250 SAT I, 800 Math 2 SAT II, 770 US History SAT II, 690 Spanish SAT II, 4.4 GPA weighted (sorry but I don’t know my weighted), 7 APs including 3 this year. Strong but not constant upward trend in grades. My first acceptance, such a relief.

My guess is that if they will release any more decisions right now, it will start back up again on Monday.

They will probably release them every friday until April which sucks because I have a feeling that if you get rejected they wont tell you will April.

That would be terrible… I really do hate the wait. If they have already made the decisions for people, I wish they would just tell them as soon as possible.

I submitted my (not so great) mid-year grades less than a week ago, was accepted on the 31st and invited into LSA Honors. I am completely baffled given that I’m OOS, with a 2190 SAT and 4.15 weighted GPA. VERY CONFUSED BUT NOT COMPLAINING. Wow.
Apparently the deferred pool is reviewed in ‘rounds’ next to the normal decision, with the top x% moving ‘up’ each round.
Good luck to anyone who hasn’t heard anything yet. It really sucks, but worst case you’ll get your decision in 2 months or less.

Does anyone have word on weather decisions will be coming out throughout the week or just on Fridays?

^^^ I don’t know. That was just a thought that someone came up with. My feeling is that they will continue throughout the week.

I will send in a question to chat tomorrow asking them. They will give me a vague answer probably, but at least we can read in between the lines and hopefully form a decent conclusion as to when they will come out.

Either way, good things come to those who wait.

Also, to the person who was talking about why they won’t release rejected decisions. Since the University hasn’t read all applications yet, they haven’t complied their waitlist yet. That’s why.

How do you find out if you’re invited to honors? Is it just in the email?

Anyone can apply to LSA honors, the email doesn’t really mean anything.

I was deferred EA and accepted Friday afternoon. 2010 SAT, 32 ACT, 4.29 GPA weighted, 10 APs.

I really hope they’re not just doing this on Fridays… :/

Doesn’t look like anymore are coming out soon)): I just talked to an admissions rep and she said that they send them out in large batches and that they don’t know when the next one will come out, but it won’t be next week. I took a screenshot of it but I can’t figure out how to get it on here );

Daughter got accepted in the School of Nursing this weekend after being deferred. Her first semester grades hadnt been sent in yet because they don’t even get report cards until today. She did write a letter of interest last week. 3.8 GPA, in state, 30 ACT, many APs, volunteers at hospital.

for those of you out there who didnt get an email yet, dont lose hope! i never thought i would get in after getting deferred, especially because i’m out of state with a 3.76 weighted gpa. i wrote them a letter of continued interest and i was just accepted friday, so just stay positive everyone!
