University of Michigan - Deferral Thread

@rtv2014. Did BU get back at you? Do you live in MA?

@jcooch i hear from BU on saturday! and im from NY!

@rtv2014… Lotsa luck with BU as well! I am getting my financials back from other schools and as such I am getting kicked square in the satchel!

@jcooch thanks !! good luck to you too!!! Don’t lose hope yet, stay optimistic! When one door closes, another opens

I did see someone post their acceptance with #victors2018 but besides him all the others are believed to be transfer students. I know a couple that heard today that were transfers. KEEP HANGIN IN

anyone know when exactly the final decisions for deferred people are out?
thanks

@bingo26 the decisions are rolling, which means there is no exact date, admissions releases a few at a time. They have already started releasing decisions, and they will continue until mid april! we could find out in 5 minutes, 1 week, 2 weeks, or a month!! one can never tell

Does anybody know how many kids have already been accepted into the university? I would like to know how many spots are left.

@QaPlease I don’t think they release those numbers mid-way through admissions. They only give admissions stats once everyone has received a decision.

Has everyone survived another day? Hang in there!

Jcooch, thank you for helping us get through this! Your good character is evident through your writing and you deserve to get in!

Just to add in, 2 people from my school got in yesterday and 3 got in today.

@tomticonderoga are you in-state? Nobody from my school has gotten in lately, but I’m OOS.

i’m so done

@undecid I am in state.

i feel like giving up at this point, my spirits are low and my SAT is going to prevent me from getting in, good luck to the rest of you and i truly hope you guys end up at michigan!!

i wonder why they keep so many of us waiting

There is no advantage for Michigan to rush through the application process when they have many more qualified applicants than they can accept. They could probably completely fill their incoming class with 33+ ACT / 3.95 GPA people if they wanted to. They are looking to get a diverse, interesting mix of students. That is why sometimes a person with worse stat’s at your school might get accepted over you (or vice versa).

They are also going to send out batches of acceptances based on who has committed or withdrawn their application. If the number of male commits is outpacing females, they will try to adjust for this. They need time to do this. They are upfront about this when you apply and tell you that you will get a decision by mid-April.

Personally, this whole process has turned me off to Michigan in so many ways. Obviously I still want to go but I just find myself getting more excited about the schools I’m already into and less excited about UM

@az6396 me too. I used to want to go to Michigan so badly, but don’t want to go to a school that won’t even give me a decision.
