My friend here at my school, private catholic, heard back last Friday at around 12:30ish
So 3:30 Michigan time
did your friend have portal change at 3:30pm or email at 3:30pm? ( if email…could have been from the night before) @sandiego21
@2boys email I believe
My friends son instate heard last Friday around 3. She has a friend in admissions that told her that 85% of EA were deferred. My son is patiently waiting as all of you are. I hope we hear something soon. This hanging in limbo is rough.
@sandiego21 If it was an email around 3:00 PM EST, the portal might have been updated at midnight EST. So, that could’ve been a part of the regular 3/2 wave.
@csekar15 I know I wish there was someway to check the time and see when the portal is updated
Ok update. Was on Twitter and searched “Michigan admissions” and a girl posted an email, from today March 9th, letting her know she had gotten in. Ok wait edit, this was from last year, 2017 (sorry for the mistake) but was still March 9th
@JohnGaltIII What mistreating? Most schools know there are applicants that have zero chance to get accepted at this point and are waiting for the rejection/admission notice deadline the end of next week or later. Indeed, UMich is so nice to let most admitted students know the outcome ahead of their early April deadline.
Was the campus affected by all the storms? Perhaps that could have put a kink in their usual schedule.
Nothing here
Still Nothing :((
There is no severe weather in Ann Arbor since a week ago. Some snow on Tuesday evening though. Nothing out of normal.
Same. Nothing
nothing
@bratinahat That 85% deferal, or 15% EA admission rate, is consistent from what I have heard from other sources. So near 40% of total admission has been offered in EA.
Under View Credentials, does it show mid-term grades for deferred students? I was deferred but no mention of mid-terms.
@billcsho I agree with you completely. My sons deferral letter states that he will hear the beginning of April as to acceptance, waitlist or denial. As a result, he has been filling out LLC apps and attending accepted student days elsewhere (he is at one today). I told him from the beginning not to get his heart set on one school, you never know what will happen! He is excited about all his options including DA into other business schools, merit money and honors/scholars. Once the appplications are sent, it is time to enjoy your senior year!
@billcsho I edited that post because it did not really convey what I meant and it was crass. I was just of the thought that if you are going to go ahead and send out the accepts in batches why not send denials out to the large number that have zero chance. My reasoning is that while in one’s mind you know you do not have a shot, your heart thinks you have a puncher’s chance if your application is still “in play”. Of course, I am an outsider to the process and understand the difficult job an admissions department at a great large school must do and that they probably have logical reasoning why they do it the way they do.
So then does this mean that there won’t be any decisions today because it’s past 3 pm
