University of Michigan Deferred Applicants Class of 2022

For the love of God - Please release the decisions. It’s ok if I am rejected, I just want to either cross it off my list or make travel plans. I am TIRED of WAITING FOR UMICHIGAN. Accepted: UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, Purdue, Northeastern, Umiami, Case Western, UCBoulder, Santa Clara, Virginia Tech, RPI and a few other randoms. Rejected: Northwestern and USC (that one stung a little)

@amelchd oh yeah i forgot about that! optimism is key i appreciate you

Really scared and just wanna get in, especially now that I realize I’ll probably end up at Michigan state if I don’t get in cause it’s cheaper than other schools since I’m in state. It’s literally my last choice, I really didn’t like it when I went for a camp so I’m dreading that if I do end up getting rejected!

@tripgirl same ): i visited recently not bad but just… not ideal

@tripgirl same here. I’d be fine with guaranteed sophmore transfer but I’m really not looking forward to MSU if worst comes to worst.

@wowisntthisfun it’s nothing compared to umich! I could tolerate it but I really rather not

@EthanAz1 exactly! I rather transfer from a community college or somewhere that is not msu

@tripgirl There’s no way I’m going to a community college or UM-D/Wayne State for a year. Id rather not have to transfer out of MSU but that’s what I’d be doing if I end up getting rejected.

@EthanAz1 my son Is looking at the same schools as plan B. Hopefully next week we will get some answers and be able to make plans.

@EthanAz1 @tripgirl yeah I’d be doing a sophomore transfer. I’d be interested to hear more about ur experiences @ MSU? esp tripgirl why would you choose cc over msu?

@wowisntthisfun 4 of my cousins go to MSU and love it while my sister goes to unich. One of them(the oldest) really wanted to go to umich but got denied. The campus was nice and all but my mentality would make my experience way worse that would it could be. Really hoping for AA over East Lansing. UofM>MSU in all aspects.

What draws you guys away from Wayne as a backup? Why MSU?

You guys are lucky that MSU is cheap for you, As a NJ resident Rutgers is super expensive for me and will probably end up in NJIT

And that’s very scary, I hope umich accepts me

Also if you guys do end up going to MSU or CC for your first year (lets hope not), it is important to make your decision based on where Umich will take the most credits from. I am assuming you guys have quite a load of credits from AP courses, which would mean you are most likely going to take some upper level classes and Umich is often pretty picky about what they will transfer in.

@wowisntthisfun I went to a camp there for 3 days and really just didn’t like it. The campus was really big so it didn’t have the same college vibes as umich, and i hated the dorms and food (could be biased tho as I had already fallen in love with umich). It just seems more like a party school, considering half my school goes up for each game day to party which I find weird (why would a college student want to party with a high schooler!) As for why I’d choose community college, I have a family member who works at a cc near my house which allowing me to take classes for free there, so it would be a lot smarter economically and maybe even help me find an area I’m more interested in so I can transfer to umich more sure about a major and take classes around that.

@EthanAz1 I agree with you, my mentality is set on umich… that’s gonna be rough if next week is bad news.

@sim99 I didn’t apply, I never really considered wayne. I like the MSU campus better than Wayne’s (but AA beats all). I also had a friend at Wayne but ended on absolutely awful terms so that was also a big factor (even tho it really shouldn’t be)

@tripgirl yeah I visited and my friends fell in love with it. it just made it harder… I felt bad about not liking it too but I guess I just sincerely like aa better. free classes is a BIG deal yeah that’d be a good reason to choose cc

Has anyone noticed that there hasn’t been a ton of in state acceptances? Or is that just me? It seems like all of the waves so far have been primarily for OOS.
