Ahh!! Accepted today OOS after being deferred! Just sent an email of continued interest like two days ago! Honestly was not expecting this, felt my essays were pretty weak

My daughter was deferred and then accepted to Kinesiology this morning. OOS, 3.8 GPA, 2030 SAT, Strong demonstrated interest with extra-curriculars and essays. Double legacy (both parents). Good Luck!
They will still send an email even if you are rejected, right? Anyone from the midwest hear back? Also, I never sent in my 1st semester grades. Did I have to?

i am an international student and applied for COE i was deferred initially didn’t receive anything now.
I am also wondering if any of the COE applicants who got in applied for industrial engineering??
@hld3471 Congrats to your daughter! My daughter continues to wait to hear from School of Kinesiology. Also OOS, but no legacy status. Michigan is her first choice. Very strong athlete and active in a number of extracurriculars related to Kinesiology. GPA 3.95 and ACT 33 Has been in touch with regional college counselor. Don’t know if there are any other things she should be doing.

Hello. Could you tell me what the interest email is about? Is it like saying that Michigan is your top choice? And do you think it is really helpful to do it?
The letter is meant to demonstrate that you’re still interested in attending Michigan. I think a lot of people wrote a short email further describing their interest/fit. If Michigan is your top choice, you could mention that too. You might also mention any updates relevant to your application (e.g. any new awards you’ve won).
I’m not sure how helpful it is. Some people who sent a letter have gotten in, and some haven’t. Personally, I didn’t send one and just got in yesterday. I think the most important thing is sending mid-year grades.
@Nedcone ok so I logged onto the portal (wolverine access) and there wasnt anything… do you know where to click exactly? like you log on and then do you know where you can find the decision?
@jumpingstar When you are on your portal, click ‘application status.’ If your decision has been made, there will be a button next to ‘view credentials’ that says ‘view decision.’
@ProudDad26 your daughters stats seem very good for kinesiology…I hope you hear good news for her soon! My daughter did send a letter of interest and strong first semester grades after her deferral. Good luck!
