University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

@takanuva‌ - Can’t believe you’re still deferred with those stats. My S has lower stats and I’m beginning to think we don’t stand a chance. So discouraged.

D accepted Today - OOS, deferred EA from CoE (Bioengineering major)
GPA - 4.0 UW, 4.3 W
ACT - 30
Comments: Very unexpected with such a large group of extremely qualified applicants. It’s been a long wait but it’s great to finally get some answers. Will now weigh up financial implications; her scores are not likely to `yield merit aid but we will keep our fingers crossed.

@Madison07‌ did she get an email or did you just happen to check WA? Congrats!

Still deferred as well, 34 act, 3.82 fps, but took 11 Aps. Can’t handle waiting much longer. :slight_smile:

No email, just happened to check WA. When we saw the “view decision” message I was sure it was a rejection because I had read they had recently been sent out. Still amazed by this turn of events - I figured posting might help those who have been anxiously waiting. There’s definitely hope!

Thanks @Madison07‌ My S is still waiting. He was EA too for CoE. We have pretty much lost hope. Congratulations again!

@nosyla - I hope your son gets into the college of Engineering! We had also totally given up hope, and thought with D’s lower-end ACT score there was no way she would be even be considered. Hang in there and hopefully you will hear soon. The seemingly endless waiting is really awful for both students and parents. Hopefully some of the early acceptances who are now possibly choosing other universities will free up more slots for our deferred group.

I have a friend who just received a decision today, accepted OOS. No rhyme or reason with admissions anymore especially since our rep told my college office that they wouldn’t release anymore until the end of March.

@Madison07‌ Did you just happen to look today, or have you been checking since last friday?

@cl3v3land‌ What school at umich?

Has anyone been accepted or has heard of anyone accepted into the School of Kinesiology?

@jahockey‌ i remember seeing someone say online that they got accepted.

@uofmPlease - we have been checking every day. So sometime last night or early this morning the “view decision” appeared, and then an email followed several hours later, around noon PST.

@Madison07‌ awesome! Congrats!!!

@uofmPlease I have a 35 act/2310 sat and the ppl who got in so far are lower, but not by much. Hoping i get my result in the next couple weeks

@BSM1987‌ Don’t be discouraged… others admitted from my Son’s school have lower stats…may be my son doesn’t fit in the profile they would like for a well-rounded incoming class (Asian kid majoring in CS - where’s the diversity?). If UMich is one of your son’s top choices, I hope he gets in.

@tennisluv101 What school do you go to? You must be going to a great school because you have great stats. And going to a well known school can help with admissions i have heard. Have you gotten in yet?? I am still waiting for my decision :frowning: :’( This really sucks :frowning: :frowning:

Thanks @takanuva‌. Wondering if any results will be released tomorrow. It doesn’t seem like there’s been enough time for UM to have feedback on the last round of decisions. Hopefully people are letting UM know if they’ve decided to go somewhere else but that’s probably not very common.

I’ve heard several rumors from a guidance counselor that decisions will be released tomorrow also. Has anyone else heard this?

@jahockey‌ I so hope this is true!!! I literally wore my UMich sweatshirt to school today in hopes that they’ll release decisions tonight.
