University of Michigan Early Action Class of 2019 Discussion

@Fri612 Not sure how admissions will take it but you certainly won me over.

@Fri612‌ that is great appeal. If you send it Harvard, you might even have got a likely letter. just kidding. :smiley:

accepted to uminn twin cities, purdue, and uchicago so far. hoping im 4/4 after today! good luck to everyone! (-:

@Ryan1997 #920

That was my son’s plan with Illinois until they cancelled their EA program. He had to add several schools to his list just in case he is rejected in February. I really had to push him to get his early apps in so that he would be in at least somewhere before all the RD apps are due.

I’m still not sure of acceptances actually coming out today, are we certain that some came out or are these all rumors??

My kid was deferred at Wash U. so now it’s this or spend the next two weeks frantically applying to more schools

@Sando97‌ 99% sure its true

I got deferred. I received an email at 2:33 PM.

Was it signed by Erica L Sanders?

Sigh I finally decided to post- deferred.

36 ACT, OOS, LSA, 3.9 GPA.

Oh well…

I just received. got deffered…fuck

@carlsandburgsr‌ yes

Two of the other kids from my school just got their deferral letters at the same time. There are 4 of us who applied. I haven’t heard anything… So much anxiety!

People who are being deferred, last year there was two deferral letters, one signed by Theodore L Spencer Sr Vice Provost and the other by a lesser person, I think Erica L Sanders is the good one or Spencer equivalent of last year. For Erica’s email would u mind posting its content?

Just got deferred… Sigh. Gave it a shot, but it was just not meant to be.

Got deferred by Erica.

Dear *******

Thank you for your application to the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2015. We are pleased that you have applied and are impressed with your achievements. However, our high application volume, coupled with the very strong credentials of our applicants in recent years, has contributed to an increasingly competitive admissions process. As a result, we are writing to inform you that your application is currently being deferred for further review.

While this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2015.

Strong fall semester or trimester grades may improve your status in the deferred pool of applicants. Therefore, please ask your high school counselor to forward them when they become available. Beyond that, we are confident that the information you have given us is more than sufficient for a final decision. The most successful candidates send us only what we require. Please refer to the website https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2080</a> for FAQ’s about the admission process and what to do next.

We hope your interest in Michigan continues. You have our best wishes for an enjoyable and successful end of your senior year.

Sincerely,

Erica L. Sanders
